I think we are missing the point, people are going down for considerably longer for financial crimes, fraud etc but these creatures tortured a child, one of them raped another and the brothers tortured their own grandmother before her death. The Stepfather had a history of torturing and killing animals.

Why was life not the verdict, to mean life. 5 years? Justice was not served.

Actually, you just have to dig a little deeper. The Judge that passed down the sentences was actually very cunning. A life sentence is finite, and has parole like any other. BUT, give them a minimum, rather than a maximum, and you can keep the sods locked up indefinitely.

One of them actually got 12 years minimum. That is longer than a standard life sentence, which can mean out in ten. The only way to guarantee longer sentences is if the Home secretary rules that life means life, and because it wasnt a murder case but an abuse case this cant happen. Yes, this gives good opportunity for a future Home Secretary to consider making thier sentences suitably long. This was necessary as the trio were not charged with murder as they should have been. All this out by 2012 is just a scare, and if the cul;prits believe it so much the better when their hopes are dashed.

Furthermore the these scum were on trial for the brutality against P. The child rape case is seperate, and actually has a longer sentence attached. Besides child rapists are on a life sentence anyway, one way or another.

Do not be suprised if some of these end up with suicide committed on them, as many think happened to Shipman and West. We cant actually condone that per se, but no tears will flow here.

I'd say screw the small cell, put them in with the general prison population and see how long they last.

I say shoot em all and let god sort them out.

Then charge the family for the ammunition used.

these folks, with their faces plastered on the news and published for what is just plain *nasty*may well deserve the tender mercies of a lynch mob.

Preferably one with a sense of poetic justice and several medical professionals to keep them suffering.
