Fair enough point, but Lash shouldnt stop a vet assault squad getting to the prince, they can push forward, and once he is in combat he wont be able to lash units.

Oblits are tricky, and somewhat annoying, but still easily killed in combat (due to gaking stats)
Why try and out shoot a unit that is one of the best units in the game for ranged / close support fire?

Thats like ork boyz trying to outshoot tau firewarriors.

Either try and pod units close (termies maybe?) or even use a landraider to deliver a unit. (sounds like suicide right?)
AV 14 VS S9 lascannons.

9 las shots.
6 hits

with those 6 hits they need a 5 to glance and 6 to pen.
so there is a good chance it wont turn out too well, but the oblits just wasted a turn shooting something other than scoring units. (could even use multiple rhino assault units, allthough they will die)

Don't use expensive units. Lash and oblits help each other to work as a scalpel to pick out the most dangerous threats and either lash them for obliteration or lash them to where they're out of the way. A cookie cutter list with lots of redundancy basically takes the sting out of that, they just have to pick one of the many targets available and hope they do enough. My biggest problem with my list when facing that sort of thing is failure to kill a whole unit. I lash a unit away, damage it severely, but can't kill the last model - next turn, the rest of his army is up in my face forcing me to deal with it, and those last few surviving members go grab objectives.

Obliterators seem scary but they're not. If you've got lots of rhinos, at best he can kill 3 a turn. Run the odds. 3 oblits firing lascannons will hit with 2, both will LIKELY penetrate a rhino but how often do you roll a 1 or 2 on one out of 2 dice? Even assuming both penetrate, ever rolled 2 dice and not gotten a 5 or 6 on either? A unit of oblits doesn't pop a vehicle every time they fire at it, and this is all assuming you don't have smoke or something. I'd say turn 1 blitz forward and take your lickings from obliterator lascannons. Turn TWO run up close and pop smoke so your cover saves are working againse twin-linked meltaguns. Turn 3 unload and start charging.

I would avoid dreadnoughts. I was initially thinking they'd be useful for:

1) Oblits have harder time penetrating their armour, especially with lascannons, so they'd serve as reasonable tough distractions

2) Dreads do great against plaguemarines in cc

But then I remembered how tasty dreads are for daemon princes, and he could do something sneaky like fly over your faster rhino wall and assault the dread in the back, forcing you to split your forces to go back and deal with the daemon princes instead of going forward into his main army.

Out-range & out-shoot the oblits & lash users with a few forward assault/speed bump units to slow up advances.

I agree that dreadnaughts and foot sloggers are not going to work.

Well by using BA you're already pretty limited to the type of army you can do..

Not sure there is anything more to say other than .. hope to go first and maybe the missions will help. Like for last round if you faced lash in round 2 you'd be a very nice spot vs them as opposed to round 3

Its all about matchups and the mission..

There is really only 1 list you can do with BA besides adding in a GK squad for flavor

What sort of heavy weapons (including vehicles) are you using? sufficient heavy weapons will easily take care of the problem. Since stat-wise obliterators are no more dangerous in close combat than an assault marine, (and I'm assuming you have plenty of those, though I may be wrong) I'd reccomend putting them in a transport and overrunning them. Each one can only kill up to one marine a turn. Just be aware of how close you are to them to avoid the flamers, be okay with casualties and you'll be fine.

I dont agree with Kirasu in regards to there being only one list for BA. 2500 brings in a lot of other factors and GK are a very powerful unit. I guess I could just go with a power list like lash spam or mechdar but I think I will stick with my favorite army.

You can try to get a first turn scout attack going on the obliterators. I saw a battlereport recently where a squad of obliterators died on turn one and the CSM player went :( They are much easier to kill than whatever demon thing is doing the lashing is anyways. Since your mech (and blood angels, so everything has a chance to be a 'fast vehicle') you can probably kill off the oblits pretty quickly.

Lots of Lascannons and TH/SS Termies in LRs owns Lash Princes and Obliterators 9/10 times. I don't agree with the statement that Obliterators are hard to outgun. It's easily done by Combat Squad Tacs with Lascannons, LC Land Raiders, combi-melta drop-podding Sternguards and the like. It's not really hard army to beat.
