yea, shovels are ideal and seeming your in an urban environment pik axes fit in aswell

some ideas too

ammo boxes? clips
any type of storage box or pack
sand bags
cover/broken things to hide aroud

yea and the autocannon is too long lol i did compare it to the sentinal one witch is smaller and more compact, but dont use the hvy wep team one :L unless you like long barreled weps.. BUT WAIT if you look at it, kinda reminds me of the vostrian sniper with respirator on, so you could have the AC...sorry if i confuse anyone LOLOLOL CHEESE

The only thing I don't like are the Vostroyan minis themselves. That said, you've still done really beautiful work painting these. Really crisp and clean. And you didn't overdo it on the gold like the guys at GW

The WIP chimera, I am being a bit picky but the guy out the top of it was a cadian not a Voystran.

@ Imperial Monkey, I think at the bottom of page 1, i was given a link to some pig iron winter heads, which look pretty roughly like Vostroyan ones. So i have ordered a box of 20 of those, and should hopefully have them soon (int. post says 2 - 6 weeks..) but thank you for the concern, as i was thinking the same. I will use these heads for my scout sentinel crew, and probably to convert some of my cadians into Vets, or just infarntry squads?

Not much of an update, was in london yesterday, and have had a movie day today more or less Chimera 2 is about 85% completed, waiting for my pig iron heads so the tank commander can be kited out with one of those. Pictures will be following soon!

P.s need seriously cool idea's for lasguns, going for urban style winter guard, but dont want to use the average cadian lasgun, does anyone have any suggestions / links to any way of making them look cool?

The chopped and shortened look with the foregrip would definitely look urban and very cool.

apologies with the very slow updates, been getting ready for my holiday which is tomorrow, going to malta for a week so no updates till then! First things to do will be to prime the sentinel, order another box set of vostroyan troops, and hopefully my pig iron heads would of arrived so i can start on my vets see you till then!

I have to say the Vostroyan's really do look great steampunk armies are awesome.

Serious apologises on the lack of progress on this thread recently! been working on a new nuln army, which now my second infantry squad has arrived i can put to the side and get the First borns out again! Squad has been primed, and 2 subtle conversions added to the sergeant and flamer, and the HW base looks alot more interesting for this squad, pictures soon Jack.

I'd really think about getting a different head on the chimera commander - the Cadian head just looks out of place with the vostorians. Use a bearded empire head and knight's arms maybe? A big fur hat is probably impractical inside a tank, but he needs more steam punk.

Dude, for your first army and being 15, you have some serious skills. As far as a reply to what list to run its all up to your style of play. I like a nice defensive gunline with some fast moving vets for claiming objectives, and of course the russes. I can't wait to see more stuff from you!

Hey guys thanks for the replys! My chimera commander had his head replaced a few days ago with the pig iron heads but thanks for the comment, as before i was also thinking the same, just managed to paint all of the squads cloth with red gore, and am off to a vet night at my local GW with a mate, so hopefully will be able to ge a game in! will post my ideas of lists later, as i really have to run! thanks for keeping me motivated, Jack.

Hey sorry about the lack of progress reports! not too much done, school has been bogging me down!:/ Squad is around half done in painting, and began creating twin linked lascannons for my valkyrie. Looking to get 2 forgeworld exectuioner turrets from games day, and then another 2 punishers after that. hopefully that will get me up to 1500, maybe will need another squad? ideas on lists?

Wow hey O_o, thanks. Yeah made loads of progress lol just been ridiculously busy so havent had time for photo's or posts really :/ started played my mech list using reserve flank tactics which i havent lost with yet... but still have a demolisher and a executioner to paint up, then the army should be finished might revisit some of the earlier squads for touch ups as my painting has improved through the project.
