I think one of the best ideal scenarios I have experienced so far was the Final game of my Local Escalation League. Came down to turn 6. I have remnants of 2 squads and 1 chimera and he had 2 SM bikes. Both fights on an objective. My lone Company Commander Survives his fight to contest and Final shot kills the other bike and I win 1 to 0 objectives and walk away league champ. Hard to top that.

Nothing beats being able to have some beers eat pistachio/ pretzels maybe have a pizza delivered and play a game with friends.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

If im playing regular I enjoy the Dawn of war lay out with nice scenario perhaps fantasy scenario.
I`ve never tried apoc but if I, I would enjoy a spearhead layout with and urban scenario.

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!! 92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.

Me winning (for a change).

Jokes aside. A friendly, well balanced apocalypse game with lots of explosions and with decent food and company. Just can't seem to get that here.

Hi all.
For me its the rules to game play ratio, that either makes or breaks a game for me.

I can 'get into' most fantasy-/-scfi or historical backgrounds.

I dont have a preference for any particular scale .(But as my painting is a bit pants,up to 20mm tends to be my favorites. )
(As I have an active imagination, asthetic of a game become less important when I am playing ... )

My favorite games on no particular order,
Classic Battletech ,
For its evolving background, layered rules, so you can get as complex as you want to.But most of all its great gameplay to rules ratio.( and the fact the rules are abundantly clear, if a bit laboured in places.)
(Introductory rules and background can be downloaded free on the internet.Ill put in a link for you MDG, if you want?)

Blood Bowl because is easy to learn and great fun to play.

Chain Reaction III for its simple resolution method, for fluid game play.

Armies of Arcana for its great game play and creature creation formula, and army composition (so you CAN work out points values accuratley .)

Stargrunt II for its great depth of tactical game play ,(although lack of PV may seem like a handicap to some , it makes for more narrative based game which I enjoy.)

Firefly because for a 'tread head' WWII armour acuratley portrayed in a game is just my kind of game! (T34 -85s rock!)

HOTT because it lets you use whatever (15mm) minatures you like !

On revision , ' any game that has a clear focus on what it is supposed to be , and is well defined in every way', is my kind of game!

Happy Gameing ,
Lanrak.

Omadon's Realm

A massive battle of fantasy on a massive table, with multiple generals on each side controling each racial army and a few individuals controlling some of the random elements in each (say a few guys on each side controlling dragons, flights of eagles or packs of giants etc) for gak n giggles.

Maybe make it a seige, over several days, a'la Gondor.

Good humour, relaxed and a few beers.

The ideal game would be one with dimmed lights, subtle music in the background to set the mood and see-thrus for that extra sensuality.

Not sure on the exact details but it would need to include explosives, supermodels, leather, whipped cream, a cattle prod, tequila and a Lamborghini LP-640.

Yeah, that should do for a great weekend game.

Battletech?

As for a system, I would love a good squad based game in a Necromunda style. But simpler than Infinity.

Hmm, no I'm not into poorly written erotica novels.

I think something of a cross between Flames of War and 40k would be amazing. Flames of War's rules allow for some things that 40k simply doesn't cover like assault reactions, it's scale would also work better for vehicle squadrons and artillery and would give a greater ability to maneuver on the table. Go figure that combining my two favorite games at the moment would be ideal to me.

A game where the words "Lash of Submission" are never even spoken. That thing saps all fun and friendly, casual gaming I'm having out of the game on turn 1. I fought a doubles army with three of the damn things yesterday for god's sakes.

A game of WFB with all the armies painted, based on trays (no proxys) on a nice board with fantastic scenery in a no cell phone zone, with some cold beers and the 4 footer in the corner for half time. As for the result, a massacre by me on the last turn highlighted with insane rolling.
