I use Razorbacks to back up other heavier vehicles. Two Razorbacks and One or Two Landraiders are a cool thing. The other guy rarely shoots at the Razorback in the beginning, and with an LC or HB I can at least be a pain in his butt because of it.

Two Razorbacks with LC's are as survivable as a LC Predator with almost as much firepower and less points. Or two with HB's with a combat squad for flank and they do nicely as long as there is something else for the enemy to shoot at. From what I have seen, Land Raiders attract shots of most of the AV weapons, and the Razorbacks are usually ignored until it is too late.

For example: I used one of my Razorback to close off the retreat of a close combat command squad. And, the other one killed a Vindicator and a Dreadnaught. While my Redeemer caught more of the attacks and got stunned, but that is it. This allowed other units to take out more of the baddies exponentially.

Another example: My Razorbacks with LCs blew up a Chaos Land Raider on the second round of firing at it. Out popped a named IC With Chaos Termies and the Redeemer with the AC mowed some of them down. Third round, Razorbacks and the Land Raider Killed the rest of that squad. So, 400 points took out about 600 points in three turns. My termies didn’t even have to disembark yet. Zero losses. Turned around and killed more troops and a Demon Prince.

More guns mean more shooting and that means less shooting for them. If I lose one, fine. Points cost was low and every time I have fielded them, they have given me back my points and then some. Hell, 40 points for a HB Razorback is great against Nids and Orks. I get my points back before they get overwhelmed.

If you put the Razorbacks out there alone, they will be toast in short order. If you give them something to attract the fire, or to cover them, they are great weapons platforms. If the other guy shoots at it instead of my Redeemer, fine. Let’s me get closer to kill and I can disembark my termies. But usually they fixate on the Land Raider. Two LC Razorbacks can take out a Land Raider almost 20% of the time. Auto cannon Razorbacks are just as fun.

Rhinos, now I haven’t had any luck with rhinos. They are just targets, and 5 points less then a HB Razorback. In my experience (which isn’t much I admit) more shots mean better game. Combining those shots means other things are dead faster.

Hunter Killers are not worth it. A BS3 missile with unlimited range. In other words, it is only going to even hit 50% of the time, and against vehicles it will only penetrate a certain amount of the time based on the vehicle's AV.

As for extra armour, you're paying 15 points for the following:
- increased protection from 16% of penetrating hits
- increased protection from 64% of glancing hits

Extra armour really shines in the realm of glancing hits, as with a glancing hit (with extra armor) you have the following possibilities:
- roughly 64% of glancing hits will become 1's on the Vehicle Damage table. (1's, 2's, 3's, and 4's)

So, with vehicles with a high AV, that will more than likely suffer more glancing then penetrating hits (think AV13+), extra armour can be quite useful.
