Most likely yes. And GW clamps down hardcore. Best thing is buy the Assault on Black REach box set. You'll get the rulebook, a bunch of Space Marines and Orks, another hand out on how to play 40k simplified, dice, and measuring sticks.

After you learn how to play, you can always sell or trade off the models you don't want to keep.

And the Templates.

Age is no excuse, so don't bother saying "im 13"(sic) as an excuse for ignorance. Act like an adult and you'll be treated like an adult.

I was not making an excuse, I was simply replying to metalif... sorry cant remember his name, because he said I'm ovibously young and he was correct, and i'm not ignorant, I just dont take gak from anyone, sorry if it seems i' being rude, hard to explain, thanks anyway, trying to convince freind to buy my nurgles to start him off.

And Fafnir is right. At your age, mowing lawns in the summer and shovelling diveways and sidewalks in the winter is a good way to get cash (And keep in shape). Paper routes are good when you're looking for an early career that you can stick on your first resumé in a couple years, And you can always have a garage sale and get rid of any old stuff you don't need anymore as well.

Once you get your first real job, you'll find money a bit easier to come by, but at your age all of the above will work fine.

I'm not going to argue because you are right but this is not an excuse, I live in country so nobody else lives beside my, I mow my own grass for no cash, I want to sell my model cars but need to get permission from dad, I am in great shape and heading off to Scotland for British open(karate), I'm a brown belt, I go running 5 mile every day, ok.... so, I'm going to stop with my lifestory before you click out, lol, i'm also going to follow metallifan's advice and set a goal to buy it with money or get a Christmas prezie as my birthday was June past.

Bruiant wrote:I kind of understand why you think £30 is too much. When i first ever brought minis (40k) which was two years ago, i picked up a SM codex and the SW supplement. The SM codex has now been updated and the SW is just about to be updated too. And to think iv never used them yet either! I left my minis in their boxes for a year as i became too busy to bother, i then glued them and left them again for a while and im only just starting to paint. So them books are kind of wasted.
I do havea mini rulebook however, from the macragge box set, its very simple and covers all the basics. If you never played before, i suggest you go for that until you either a) have more money or b) master the basics and want to start playing additional rules.
As for a printed version, true you wont be allowed into a store to play with it, but if money is an issue you could just invite a friend over to your house and have(or used/damaged books?) a computer on nearby. Or buy a previous edition books as they go very cheap. Granted they are useless if you play anywhere other than with mates in a similiar situation but hey, its a solution.

YEH!! that was exact same as me, didn't reply because was at school, first day back all summer, this summer was flat out warhammer painting, and karate, using this site alot latly, thanks again to everyone that has replyed, much help, I no my route but If you still have a good idea just drop it on, thanks

Glad to finally find someone the same age as me. (yay)
6 months for a rulebook.
I don't get much from my parents (the occasional £2) I just saved birthday and chistmass monnies.
Maybe hobbycraft swindled me with £40 rulebook. :(

Cheese Elemental-Love does not bloom in 40k. Love burns. It gets turned inside out, set on fire, raped, shot with bolters, and beaten with a crowbar.

People tend to notice Pariahs. If you're in a crowded room with one, everyone's killing themselves.

Take a look around at used bookshops as well. I just picked up an old 4th edition rulebook for $14 US. I had picked up the mini-rulebook, templates and scatter dice online for about the same price a little while ago. Some shops will give a discount if you place a large order. Also, if you get to know some people you might find someone who is actually a distributor and get a better discount.

The conversion from pounds to dollars is about 2 pounds to 1 US Dollar. For Euros it's about 1.5 Euros to 1 US Dollar. This is rough estimation only. If you want exact numbers go look up the current currency conversion rates online - or just type it into Google and it will tell you.

Another optiion is to ask your parents to only give you £2 of your pocket money each week and save the rest until you need it, that way you can't be tempted to spend it all...

Tell ya what, I just bought the Rulebook with the purity seal on it ( I think it was the collectors edition or something) that is highly classy and 5th edition. PM me your address and I'll send you my AoBR mini rulebook.

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time.
