Can't say I've seen many either myself.
Think about this logically for a second. Kid 'A' and Kid 'B' are firends at school or whatever, and want to start playing 40K. They take their parents to GW and ask how should a kid go about starting.
They get offered boxed sets, a quick glance at all the armies available, but chances are AoBR is the best deal both for the parent and the 2 kids. They both get models to build, paint, and play with, they get rule books. You can basically get one set and have a game in a few days.
Said kids then carry on playing and after 6 months or so, decide to get a new army and roll Eldar and Chaos (at least from the trends i've seen, outta the 10 or so kids at my local, theres 3 SM, 3 Ork, 2 Eldar and 2 Chaos) but obviously some will stick to SM, some'll go to other armies.
It's hardly a basis to nerf one of the biggest and most popular armies to sell other ones.
What I'd like to see is similar boxes to AoBR but featuring other races. If its the cash they want, get some boxed sets featuring the less used races, Crons, Dark Eldar, Witch/Daemon hunters anyone? I know I'd buy an Inquisition boxed set. I'm getting tired of the whole Ork/SM fetish that hangs over GW, both from the modelling to the video games. Dawn of War 1, single player campaign was SM goin' a stompin over some Ork. Same in the sequel, beligerant ork are stompin around in the Blood Angels recruiting worlds and then the Eldar and 'Nids appear. Also of course, for those of us on consoles, the single most originally titled video game, leaving nothing to the imagination.... Space Marine. Guess what? It's stompin Ork again (But at least they've stopped dry humping the proverbial leg of the Blood Ravens).
Off on a bit of a tangent, but SM are the favourites of GW by a long stretch. Nothing'll change that.
