The planetstrike game was 1000 points, 4 squads of 5 terminators and a terminator captain killed my entire army by the third turn, and one of the squads mishapped. The apocolypse game was 3300 points, I took all of my painted eldar against a combined space marine tau army. That game ended in a draw

and back to the original story line. I think the guns are a little rough, I want to clean them up. The rest I like, what do you think of the faces, and should the red have another highlight.

Love the Mountie scheme! Don't forget the yellow stripe down the legs.

I like the brown stetsons that they use, but the black ones on your minis look better with the scheme IMO

Yes they are, but I actually cut the helmet off the bretonnian heads and the guard heads, and used the bottom half of the guard head with the top of the bretonnian helmet. The guard heads are a lot wider and I think work better with the model. They have that padding on the side as well.

And here is a squad (minus 1 vox-caster, I forgot). I like how it is going, and I like the leader. I spent longer than usual on his face and I like how it came out. Next up will either be my command squad or my veterans squad, I have not decided which.

Nice guardsmen, you are definately improving as you go along.

Question for you though, where did you pull that hand from on your brothers dreadnaught?

I have a couple options here for my veteran leader let me know which you think is better. Also is the hammer head to big?

I think the hammer and chainsword option would be better. It would help to represent that the vet leader is a part of the Imperial guard, and is not just some stock fantasy character. Don't forget to somehow give him a pistol, probably a holstered one.

I like everything else you've done so far, especially the commander with powerfist. Keep up the good work.

My Forces:
DA Consecrators- 2000 points' worth, currently shelved

Imperial Guard - about 2000 points' worth, soon to be expanded

Christmas Orks - 1750 points' worth

Ya, I am leaning that way as well. I also want to try and give him a pistol in that front hand, to see what that looks like, I just need to find a left hand gun grip. They all appear to be right handed.

So I decided to go with the chainsword in the off hand of the veteran leader, after searching without success through all my bits for a left handed pistol grip. I have the veterans all finished and ready to paint, and here is another sample of one of them. I hope to get to work on them tonight. Also finished and ready to paint is my command squad, that will be up after the veterans.

That dude looks really cool. I agree with the chainsword and hammer as well. Also, when you're quoting, put the /quote after the bit you're actually quoting otherwise you end up putting all of your post in a quote. (Don't know if that was intentional on your part or not but i thought i'd throw it out there just in case!)

How about that quote. Anyway, here are some pictures of the first veteran painted up. Let me know what you think.

Cool army. I agree on the chainsword/hammer. The hammers look too heavy to have one in each hand.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

very nice IG - looks very clean and fresh with minimal converting hassle to boot!

i do like the use of the empire great sword legs for the vet- makes the soldiers look as if they're in a parade uniform, tho it's practical at the same time.

keep up the good work!
