How on earth is it animal cruelty!?!
When i used to watch the show that pokemon fella was always all over the dude he belonged to if it was animal cruelty wouldnt it have whooped its ass by now.
And besides after he won a duel hed always stroke it and be like well done you did great, not all like "Get back in your ball fool, youre not wanted round here!!"

And my favourite pokemon was geodude you wouldnt wanna meet him down a dark alley.

I can't wait for Soul Silver and Heart Gold. I can put my DS Emulator to use.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Red and Blue are the only true pokemans. All others are pretenders and fools.

I played Ruby. Wasn't too bad, except all the pokemans I liked were awful. Wailord? Useless. Sharpedo? Wimpier than a wet tissue. Ninjask? Same problem.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

Yanno, Ive heard people say oh red and blue are the best (which is true) but this one and that one sucked. I disagree. They werent as good, but everyone Ive played has been pretty damn good.

I'm just blowing smoke. I've liked all the ones I've played. They just hold different levels of nostalgia and are all different experiences. I can't ever really remember consciously what it was like when I first found Pokemon and started playing it in the Red/Blue days, but sometimes it sparks up and all newness and sense of discovery comes back. It was a purer experience. I liked Gold because it had this sort of "rural Japan" setting that made the experience great. The last one I played was Ruby. It wasn't bad at all, however since the setting had gone from "rural Japan" with spirit pokemon and pokemon that were unexplained are all the more mythical for it, to technology, cities, and coming right out and saying "look, this is the Earth pokemon, this is the Sea pokemon, here they are, no mysticism here" the approach turned me off.

I haven't played D/P yet. I never have the money and time to buy a DS.

I suppose that I didn't like the feel of Ruby/Sapphire as much because in the first 2 generations the legendary pokemon weren't the source of natural forces; they were just the physical offshoots of that natural forces power and influence. It had a sort of "Shinto-ism" about it. That and the pokemon, for the most part, looked as if they actually belonged in some sort of crazy bizarro ecology. Many of them these days have become more and more genericized with the anime culture, with laser beams and "energy" attacks and creatures that look like generic anime characters like Absol.

I still like the games though.

I've played them in the past, not really atm, still haven't invested in a DS, so not played any of the newer ones. I think My fave game so far was Ruby though.

More likely to play the TCG with my eldest son atm if I'm honest.

As to fave my Pokemanz, mine for some reason was The third evolve of Mudkip. My brains gone south atm and I can't remember its actual name, but aye biggest Mudkip version, that one.

I think it was... Swampert? I can never remember right away. I always liked him and Quagsire. Picking a starter in Ruby was difficult, because I had to choose between treecko(I had never started with a grass type for my first run through on any of the other games, and I like reptiles) and mudkip, because c'mon, swampert. Big kickarse earthquaking, surfing mega salamander.
I didn't like Torchic because its later evolutions were literally big chickens. I liked Torchic itself though.

I liked Pokemon way back then and, although I wouldn't admit it out loud, I still kinda do. This topic makes me wish I hadn't lost my game boy...
