Could necrons get three lilths deploy them in a triangle (touching corners) and hide the warriors in the triangle space the three liths make (so theres no way to reach the necrons in base to base).. Then no one could assault those essential phase out warriors. People could of course drop ordance on them .. But cover saves and/or orb could help keep em alive.

Well, Necrons?
Its a mediocre army at the moment.
I'd rethink about it.
Even with three Monoliths and a Nightbringer such an army may not be competitive;
I battled such an army in the GT final last year, with two objectives; thank you GW for this scenario.
One Mono was immobilized, one rammed and destroyed, the Deceiver got killed by my Seer Council,
and his last Warrior squad hidden by the 3rd Mono was holding the objective.

I think the Necrons are still competetive. Actually I have run a list recently @ 1850 that I have had a ton of success with. I would take them up against any army. Of course they are my favorite army so maybe I play them better because I care about my little robots. Actually its the only army Ive had any success against the new wolves with. I think they are a bit overcosted but you have access to some unique units that people are not prepared for. I think in the current meta-game, the crons are actually fairly competetive. You can berate me for my opinion but Im sticking to it. Im trying to start a one man campaign to bring the Crons back which so far has equated to no-one in my area playing the army, but Im not giving up.

Crons are competitive, but the issue is if you face someone who knows what they're doing crons have a very hard time winning. Basically everything in the army are speed bumps while your liths blow up stuff. A good ork multi-charge with nobs or some khorne zerkers can rip an army to shreads... and you have very little that can honestly knock out av 14 (I mean you can glance it to uselessness with scarabs and shooting, but once its across the field whatevers inside its gonna smash you anyway)
