today's accomplishments... not much but it is starting to come together in my eyes.

That is made of epic seriously.

today was a bit of a fiddly day from a painting perspective. i finished off the bigger areas (cape and front tabbard etc.) pretty quickly but then got started on the soft armour... which i am not totally statisfied with at the moment. tomorrow might require some further detailing to make things pop a little more.
as a side note. my brother commented that he really dislikes that i am going to the leave the underside of the fabric black. i wouldn't normally do this... but i like the contrast... plus it is going to be a point of focus later on when i detail the fabric with gold seams etc. However, if those who have been following this blog want to weigh in on the issue i am open to suggestions.
Anyway, sorry about the picture quality... it might be the light but it is hard to tell the subtle changes that happen between some pictures. that is usually a good thing and i promise that in person when i hold it in my hand the contrast from one colour to the next seems very obvious.
tomorrow will be the gems, chains, shoulder icon, pendant and incense thurible... hopefully

ur greenstuff work is quite impressive.. waiting to see the finished product tho..

so when i left off last weekend i was just about to start the details and fancy bits... i meant to get most of this done during the week but mid-terms, essays and some computer drama kinda changed my plans a little bit. so heres the update: finished with the gems, the eyes, gold bits and the hammer. i also finished the filigree on the cape (with the exception of the detail on the underside of the cape), and i am now working on the filigree on the rest of the fabric bits. i also touched up the soft armour to make it look a little bit more natural. anyway... i will let the pictures tell the story. enjoy!

stoked by the detail on the cape, may i suggest you go that bit further and paint on a awsome =I= in the middle of the cape or a aquilla?

This is good. I'd like to know how you use the Bolter and Chainsword thing coz it doesn't work for me.

Loving the model now that it's painted especially the detail on the thunderhammer

@ phsycosamatic - i have been considering such ideas about a nice big =I= on the cape... but haven't found the inspiration for it yet... however, i came across a Grey Knight dread that may have got those creative juices flowing again... we'll see how things play out when i go to test the ideas. stay tuned!

worked, i just checked again and the site was working fine... i am not computer savy so i can't help too much. does the site open but the painter doesn't work, or can't you even get to the painter at all? it could just be a computer setting that is preventing it from working.

sorry this is taking so long... life keeps getting in the way... and for that matter the flu sucks and i hope no one else has to suffer through it... the last 5 days have been really crappy! but i felt better today and i got some stuff done, enjoy!

anyway i have been distracted researching painting techniques so that i can win a painting competition being held over on Bolter and Chainsword... i won't win of course... but the prize is too cool to pass up the chance, might as well give it my all and learn something while i am at it.
anyway please comment on the Grimoire of Names... so good or no good... i am not sure how i feel.

I dunno, i think its pretty solid. The right page is best IMO.

the book is taken from the Chaos Lord sprues. Suppose to be used with the chaos sorc. thats been cut up and bit and GS'ed to be held like that.

Zablikov is right about where i got the book... it's exact size is 0.7cm tall and 1.0cm across. pretty small but not tiny.

I am loving the detail in the book, but don't have a steady enough hand to ever do anything like it. It's an amazing model
