Yes, I should have mentioned I am actually at work right now and as such officially hate everything, although I have not hit anyone which can only be a good sign. Fat guy beside me hates me but at least he is not creeping me out.

Self-diagnosis is about as reliable as... well, something really unreliable. If you're having trouble, it may be worth seeking professional help. Know there are no magical instant-happy pills for MOST problems (sometimes a very specific problem with brain chemistry CAN simply and completely be rectified by medication, but I'm not too up on my neuropsychopharmacology... or psychiatric diagnostics, for that matter), first and foremost. Got to work with them openly and honestly to get the best results.

Some people have seasonal problems, others go through single or infrequent phases, others have chronic, debilitating psychological problems. Different treatments work better for different people and are tailored to specific cases, then honed through trial and error. You may have a condition, you may not. Some people just go through temporary slumps that, while they might be diagnosed as a depressive episode, they recover from on their own with no lasting ill effect. If it's bad enough, I really do urge you to consider treatment. It didn't suddenly turn my world into an endless field of sunshine and roses, but it made my life a lot easier during treatment, and I'm doing better for it, even some years afterward.

But your post is very true. I used to be quite depressed/suicidal a lot of the time but a combination of medication, lifestyle changes, and a good, solid hobby (40K) has changed life for the better.

I'm pretty balanced, and On a scale of one to 10, I'd say a proud 8. Pretty solid as it is.

Though, sometimes, under the right conditions (Playing warhammer, for one) can jump me up to a 10.

Married to a wonderful wife and have 2 great kids. Can't really ask for more than that.

I make a point of not letting gak get me down. Life is good, just takes a while to realise that.

No , im kidding ! I am most of the time fairly happy(somewhere in the middle of being depressed and out if his mind of happiness) or very happy once i smoke some weed ..

I voted very happy, apart from exams all is well on the home front. I'm always happy, hell i've only ever been depressed once in my life.

I have two jobs I love, to the point where neither actually feels like work.

I have the resultant money and discounts from two jobs (yay!).

I have a good group of friends very dear to me.

I have the respect of many people.

I have a stupid, fluffy doggy.

I have a good chance with a drop dead gorgeous girly.

Frankly, I've gone all the way to 11 right now!

When I realized that my Farseer on Jetbike was held captive, I became very sad.

Fairly happy.

I don't have extremes of emotion - I neither get depressed nor ecstatically happy.

I do know happiness and sadness, but fortunately for me, the swings and roundabouts are an alien concept.

I think gamers are mixed emotional range. There are the normal happy people, Nerds and some emotional challanged. The gaming industry changed with LARPs and Magic/other card games. It was Historical miniatures and the D&D group. The gamer group expanded to include all types of people. There are many artists in the game industry. Some artists are very unhappy. Myself and a fellow artist take a lot of psyk meds. I enjoy building a army with vehicle models. It gives me a place to focus instead of dwelling in bad places. I get upset when posters send mean/rude replies. Most people are very nice and helpful. thank you Dakka Dakka posters for putting up with my stupid questions.

I am almost deliriously happy for someone with a practical and realistic outlook on life.

On my desk next to my keyboard is a piece of paper on which I earlier wrote, and I quote,

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! YEAH

(And thats just me at work!)

I'm happy here on my island until something from off island, wether it be dealing with trainers sent here, new people coming aboard with sticks up their rears or a load of annoyances from off island coming aboard sour my mood and ruin the generally perfect atmosphere of being in a tropical paradise.
