Bit of an update folks:
I've been working on the old power-lifter concept, and after a few different arm builds I think I've come up with a winner using the pics of the Aliens power-lifter and some plasticard magic. I modified the sentinel cockpit to have the lifting arms attach at the top back, added some bitz (obviously lots of wires to come) from the sentinel kit and scrap stuff. Put beefier exhausts on from the manufactorum kit too.
Feedback welcomed:
And this unfortunate chap is going to be sitting slumped against the back wall of the valk in a disembowelled state, after a less than satisfactory encounter with a lictor while doing the re-fit checklist...
Bitz from the zombie sprue to make the guts, and commander sprue for the arms.
I've bought myself a bunch of foamcore, and am in the process of deciding what dimensions to make the diorama (probably somewhere between A3 and A2), does anyone know of size limits for competitions? Also got some alu mesh from a DIY shop for gantries and a cage lift i'm planning on making.
I also got hold of the manufactorum kit recently, and I have to say I LOVE it. So many good little detailing bitz, and lots leftover for basing characters. I would recommend anyone who's collecting an urban army to get at least one of these - it's a hell of a lot of plastic for £12!
Still in desperate need of the bitz to make my plastic lictor, none of the
UK bitz stores have warrior parts in stock.
