QFT, my dear man.
Me? The Eye fillet steak the chefs do at work is freaking awesome. Kingfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Spanish Mackarel (sp?), Cobia and Shark are all delicious, and I rarely like fish. I do a mean Chicken Schnitzel (also sp?). Spit roast lamb is great.
I like meat. If we weren't meant to eat animals, why does meat not grow on trees?

Yeah. Tofu in itself is perfectly fine. Not my favorite food, but it isn't particularly revolting. It works well in curry, and other similar dishes. However, as soon as America got hold of it and decided it was a good idea to try and make it taste like meat....*shudder*

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

in American dramas/comedies I frequently see people making their own burgers out of ground beef, they season them and then form them into patties. Is this what most people do in America or do most people just buy "pre formed" burgers like over here ?
@ topic :..hmm..beef.

The soon to be Mrs Stompa is American and she makes burgers using 'ground beef' (what we call mince).
But she is something of a domestic goddess and cooks and bakes all kinds of things (and makes me bread since all the damned shopbought bread over there is sweetened with added sugar... yuk).

In my experience, yeah. I know some people that will buy pre-formed patties if they're having a large party, but for personal/family purposes it seems like most people make their own.

Kangaroo is alright slow cooked, marinated in red wine.
Barbequed or whatever is just tough and Gamey.

I always make my own burgers. Patties work if you're having a large party but I'm usually just cooking for myself or my girlfriend and it's cheaper to just buy a pack of ground beef and make the patties yourself. You can also season them better too cuz you can work the spices into your burger.
I make bacon cheeseburgers by cooking the bacon so it's real crispy but not burnt, then I crumble it up and mix it in with the ground meat tastes yummy and the juices from the burger makes the crispy bacon soft again

Hmm, of late I've been buying mine from a local butchers-- nice and fresh-- but most people over here just buy cheap frozen ones...
..which explains a lot about our burgers I guess.

I'd love to try Kobe beef sometime, but it's so expensive.
I love veal. veal saltimoba is one of my favorites I've tried cooking it a few times and it always comes out kind of tough, or supermarket veal is just sucky.
