Urban/City for me.

Cityfight - even tho all that cover helps my opponents more than me!

for the SW, I like snow since it fits the theme.

For Orks, anything will do, they don't care where they're fighting.

I like trenches and cities. Always great for close combat specialists.

I love terrain and would vote for them all and more if possible but had to go for iceworld as its the board im gonna make next!

Really liking some of the ideas.

Desert terrain with buildings half submerged, and that nice dark eldar crystal forest idea and the likes. Also Jungley Treedom O Doomdom!

Jungle most certainly is massive lol.

I usually prefer a ruined urban/city style of terrain! Though any board will do as long as i get to play

I like ice world with a bit of ruin.



To be a prick, though, mine would be an open battlefield to deny any terrain cover saves (I play IG)

I like a bit of a mix so I had to pick "other". I want a hill here, a copse of trees there, a building there, etc. I like clearly defined area terrain and clearly defined LOS block terrain. Less arguements about cover saves that way

A nice mix of "natural" features and buildings. My table features a small Imperial outpost and some crags. It's a desert table.

Lots of terrain is always the best in my books and an Urban map will always deliver that, so that's why I voted urban.

I like 3 or 4 big pieces, maybe one hill per deploy zone, some big woods, and a couple of buildings or rubble layin here n there. I don't like cluttered city boards because assault is already overly powerful in this game without what I call 'Teleporting through terrain' where troops can run through a gap between blocks and you never even get a shot off before they are right on top of you. Since the disappearance of overwatch rules, I have tried to play on simple boardsa as best as possible. The rulebook tells us approximately 1/4 = terrain. Some players (usually with assault armies) take this very literally and insist on it. That's fine. But what KIND of terrain? one big wood copse and a couple of low hills and craters greatly benefits a shooty army, while a wad of buildings greatly benefits an assaulty army.

i preffer a plain set of terrain that has hills and maybe a river (that counts as dangerous terrain ) and not too much going on. that makes it a bit easier and i also like that sort of setting. urban style cityfightin would be okay if only the bases on the platforms would be easier to move my models around. (and if GW would not make all buildings ruins!)

I think that lots of 'city' votes come up is because of the GW terrain sets they push most. C'mon people! Go get some fishtank turf! way cheaper.... speaking of cheapass cities, the origional Necromunda box had some cool buildings made out of interlocks and card. Wish I still had.

The best way to desrcibe what I preer to play on is... Suburbia.
A mix of buildings, wooded areas, hills, maybe a road or 2.

I wish I could pick snow urban.

I always love replicating Stalingrad with my many Ig troops hiding and dying, doing what they do best. Most entertaining when fighting SM and I can make the Nazi supermen jokes.

Also jungle has some appeal. My one friend does a brilliant Richard Nixon impersonation so whenever we play in jungle and he starts losing he yells "raid the college campuses, get me more students for troops." Always funny.

Voted city and urban.

dont know why just seems to em to be a better setting for 40k and sci fi battles at least.

Nothing really beats a good sloppy urban battle. Odd things can happen and cities are great equalizers when facing any army. Very few 40k armies are at an advantage here.

I don't care what kind of terrain is on the table. But I do love terrain. I like terrain more than the minis, I think. I think my preference is for interactive terrain. I want my marines to be able to climb on/over, run around in, and generally interact with the terrain as much as possible.

I'm a strong proponent of city boards. If done well, with care taken into the creation....imagination to add some 3D environments(walkways to upper levels...etc), city boards are simply the best in helping you get a feel for the world that exists in 40k.

I love urban terrain and make my own. I dream of finishing a dense city that takes up a whole 6'x4' board.

I prefer jungles and such. That being said I like to play on tables were you have as much to fear from the enviromen as you do your opponent

City urban. The thought of battling through a ruined Imperial hive city and flattening it is somehow appealing to me, adds to the bleakness imho. Giant city-planets with tens of billions of inhabitants,blasted to hell and now fought for inch by inch. mmmmm thats good ham

Much prefer a full on claustrophoic cities of death type board. While it hurts me because I run my army shooty mechanised, I just love the imagery and playstyle that it induces, short close range firefights or deadly assaults followed by a shooting phase that wipes out the assaulters. Just love it.
