Really like the last list you put up. My preferred is Chaoszilla bomb which has only 2 Princes / 2 Dreadnoughts / 3 defilers and the troops consist of Mechanized with Daemons for back up

Defilers have several glaring weaknesses; namely lascannons and dreadnaughts. Dreads will go first vs defilers (meaning snapping off your arms or killing you outright with stupid seismic hammers), and lascannons have an easy time penning/destroying defilers. The same goes for chaos dreads, with the added bonus of 33% of the time you can't control it!
This list would be extremely weak against most lists, as well because of your very few troops C&C missions would be hell. I would honestly scrap the chaos dreads and work from there. Defilers are great support units, probably some of the best for how cheap they are! But the fact that they die easily makes hinging on them (as this list seems to do) very very risky.
I agree, playtest it some against other comp lists and see how it does! Don't take my word for it, I use chaos dreads in any game over 4k points (good to soak up shots especially when you have 2 force orgs to work with)

Umm, Zid Nurgleboy77 seams to b doing fine with it even against top tier armies.
@Hollismason: Yourlist looks like fun as well. Though I do have a soft spot for walkers myself. (the origin of this list)

The IG was kind of a weird list. Lots of platoons with Chimeras. The mission was a version of capture/Control where you selected a building in your DZ as your objective. The only building in my DZ was in the center of the table. he selected the same building as his. Yes, it sucked. He has so many (worthless) Infantry squads zipping around in Chimeras I couldn't get to all of them. He managed to contest the objective last turn, but I still got a Minor because of other victory conditions.
The Lash army I faced got out of transport first, which usually means they lose. Since I was meched up Lash did almost nothing.
I have not had a whole lot of trouble vs. most lists with mine, Zid. Of course, I have 4 Troops in mine.
Defilers do have problems with Dreads, that's why I stay away from them! lol
All-in-all I like taking things that are "weak" and learning to use them. My army may not lok so great on paper (no xtra armor?!!) but I have learned ho to make it work. Not saying I'm the greatest ever, but I do alright. The list hasn't lost a game in almost a year.

Nurgleboy does what alot of people should do. Take weak things and make them work for you. Sanctjud also does this with his crap legion builds. Personally i think comp lists are some of the most fun armies to play. Because if you win with these builds it makes it all the better.

This build isn't "weak", btw. It's the 2nd best out of the CSM dex. Chaoszilla is basically nidzilla with walkers and lash.

O H I am in the Webway...

Your list is very interesting... I would call it much weaker than Nidzilla though. AV12 isn't as reliable as T6-7 etc...
With the 2nd list, I would drop the PC and drop the EA on the dreadnoughts, now, with the extra points, you can afford to grab 2x 6 man lesser daemon squads and grab 2x personal icons in the PM.
Now, since you meltaguns are in the PM's, they are liable to die. With the summoned daemons support, you could sit those guys on objectives and GTG and have your PM's still running free.
This change gets you 5 scoring units! Not bad! If anything though, the PC in the 5 man squads just seems inadequate. Really, if the PM's get in most situations where they would need a PF, they would be going to lose anyway... The only real threats are against walkers...

And good shooting power. And troops that can hold objectives. And near immunity to small arms fire. And anti-tank power. And the ability to take more than one Flyrant/prince.
The list looks good, although I am worried about its ability to take out transports at range.

Nice list. I think #1 from your second take is the most effective. The Greater Daemon? Keep it! My last GT list looked like this:
DP, MoS, Wings, LoS
DP, MoN, Wings, Warptime
Greater Daemon
Dread, DCCW, EA, HFl
10 CSM, 2 Melta, Champ, Rhino
10 CSM, 2 Melta, Champ, Rhino
7 PM, 2 Melta, Champ, PF, Rhino
2 Obliterators
Defiler
Defiler
Id say the Greater Daemon was great in all the games I played that GT. The vulnerability of Dreads (and Defilers) is not that limited when taken in these numbers at all in my experience.
You'll do good with this list. Experience is worth a lot though. It takes time to find out what you can and cannot do with it.
Good luck, write us a battlereport one of these days if you will...
Cilithan
P.S. I change the following in the #1 list from the second take:
List#1
HQ-
Deamon Prince (110), Wings (20), Mark of Slaanesh (5), Lash of Submission (20)= 155
Deamon Prince (110), Wings (20), Mark of Slaanesh (5), Lash of Submission (20)= 155
Greater Daemon= 100
Elites-
Chaos Dreadnought (90), DCCW (10), Heavy Flamer (5)= 105
Chaos Dreadnought (90), DCCW (10), Heavy Flamer (5)= 105
Chaos Dreadnought (90), DCCW (10), Heavy Flamer (5)= 105
Troops-
10*Chaos Space Marines (150), Champion (15), 2 Meltagun (20), Rhino (35)= 220
10*Chaos Space Marines (150), Champion (15), 2 Meltagun (20), Rhino (35)= 220
5*Chaos Space Marines (75), Champion (15), Meltagun (10), Rhino (35)= 135
Heavy Support-
Defiler, 2x extra DCCW= 150
Defiler, 2x extra DCCW= 150
Defiler, 2x extra DCCW= 150
Total: 1750
In those numbers you can afford a Stunned result on a Dread once in a while IMHO. EA is a lot of points...

I rather like that version. Yeah, a lot of people seam to not need the extra armor, so might as well not use it. I noted that if I move points around I can swap the CSM for three full squads of Khorne Berzerkers.

@Arinnoor:
Well...extra armor is nice.
But not when the price increases three-fold.
The basic rhino is crazy cheap already...keeping it that way is IMO preferable.
@Iron_Chaos_Brute:
2nd best? What sort of rating scheme do you have? Just curious.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

But, the Extra Armor was on the Dreads. Still though its triple in price does make anyone hesitant to take it.

Ah.. on dreads..well at least if they roll Blood frenzy they are sane!! Err... awww...
Hence why I prefer Shooty/DCCW dreads overall.
Though the theme here is DCCW everywhere...soo...

I didn't want to put a gun on that could do real damage to the Defilers or Dreads. A DCCW instead seamed good. Fire Frenzy shouldn't really go bad, and a 6 will help.
