Well, a child's innocence is not something to be taken lightly. That being said, I think parents should teach their kids about sex first. Then they are the ones to break the ice for this delicate topic. Then, let the schools answer any lingering questions later, after proper ccontext has been established.
But, it really depends on the parent to decide what relevant topics should be discussed with their children.
