well just recieved my airbrush and compressor in the mail so some air brushed super hvy and FW goodness will follow

Heres some WIP FW masterclass shadowsword 20% done

I'm not sure how experienced you are with an airbrush, but if you don't mask off areas then you can get a smooth blend on the edges of your camo with no effort at all- the airbrush does it naturally. This gives it (IMO) a more natural camo scheme.
Anyway; the weathering on the WiP Shadowsword is looking very effective- keep it up!

I have 0 exp with an airbrush. Just following the FW masterclass book and they said to mask so i did.

Try it out on a piece of card or something- the paint splatter produces a fantastic effect. If you like it; great- glad to help, if not; ah well at least you didn't waste a model!

Where did you get those bases?

Thanks for the advice mate will try it out. The bases are from a company called forge craft 25 for $13 or so bucks. pretty sweet deal.

Did I mention how cool the heavy weapon team is with the guy drinking from his canteen? Freaking looks great, lex. Love the AKs too, I love that gun.

The camo is all fantastic, but the lenses seem a little flat.

Nah. You've got the right idea, just maybe a bit clunky execution.

It LOOKS like you're using fairly thick and wide masking tape, but I can't really tell. If so--a smaller tape might help out quite a bit and allow for more intricate designs. There's also liquid mask(Abteilung makes one, there's a bunch though. www.squadron.com has stuff like that, which isn't generally found on most wargaming retailer sites.)

The other thing to remember is that, if you need to, you can just remask the camo areas and then put on a fresh coat of the original color of the tank to tidy it up.

Nice IG Ak-47s look great with the heads. Although the lenses look a bit flat.

yeah im thinking maybe putting some gloss on to them IRL they dont look as flat though

Nice, I suggest you put some brown around the rim of the Heavy Weapons team bases.

Love the fact that in the pic the commissar is pointing his gun at the platoon sergeant. So very russian.

9 Rota. Excellent movie about Soviet Airborne troops in Afghanistan. I highly recommend it. You can get it through Amazon. You really need to get some BMP-1s for troop transports, or kit-bash the fly-ing Imperial POS into a HIND-D mock-up.

I have thinned out the dust and blended it a bit more since these pics.
As for my rattlings im just waiting on the weapons from the UK then i shall begin.
Same same for my last vet sqd waiting on the AKSU's and Riot Shields and then all the foot sloggers are done and its time for some armour and air units.

Yeah my first lot of vets are Russian airborne, so my second lot of vets will be OMON Special interior troops. So black berets dark urban camo riot shields and SMG's. Heres a link and you get the idea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OMON
