I've mixed thoughts on this topic.
First,it is of course within GWs rights to refuse armies consisting of competitors parts to be used in GW stores,in the same way that Mcdonalds won't allow you to bring in Burger King fries to eat with your Big Mac.
However,it does bother me that minis comprised of mostly GW parts (with Pig Iron add ons) would be turned away, the army owners have obviously purchased GW products and added their own flair(conversions) to personalize their army.
This is where GW begins to look less like a company about gaming and gamers, and more like just another company where cash is king and "bottom line" is far more important than the customer.

Something to remember is that playing in GW stores is advertising and it isn't worth their time to pay for space to promote products that they're not going to be able to sell.

But you see, 9/10 times--there's other parts of the situation we're not hearing. We're hearing "My pig iron IG were turned away!", not "My Pig Iron IG were turned away...after I was advertising for Pig Iron that you could get these really cool heads in place of Forge World conversion kits".
And then, we do also have to keep in mind that different store managers interpret the rules differently, as is their choice.

GW does not acknowlage other products if they can help it, or unless cornered. read your red book again. Meaning that you should go back and re-read the post.... (wait did you just say...difinitive face of miniature wargaming?.... OK thats true... cant argue... but for how long ? i hope not long at all...) Gee?, im sure if you try you could come up with a reason. So what? well if you conceed the point fine..... right with playstations we have a missunderstanding i was using a computer example not a games console. EDIT: dang im falling behind, looking up the PS3 stuff took time.

Okay, since apparently you want an answer:
Yes, GW does acknowledge other products. If you actually ask any of the staff or developers--they'll talk about how they've looked into other systems. I had a great chat a few years back at a Games Day with Andy Hoare when Warmachine was just starting up about the upcoming stuff.
Will they acknowledge third party modifications to their products?
Hell no. Because there's not SUPPOSED to be any. There's Forge World and Games Workshop kits.
That's all in their world, because that's all that is legally accepted by them. Anything else is considered by GW in the same way that Microsoft considers the people who are paid to modify Xboxes to hack/ play games without discs.

This thread has been reported... and on inspection, is so full of silliness that I don't have time to sort out right now, that I'm just going to lock it until I or one of the other mods has time to review it.
Meanwhile, a quick reminder for everybody: If you can't post in a civil fashion, don't post.
