This thread is a gold mine of absurdly bad advice. It's tough to pick a best.

We'll roll Olympic style:

Bronze Medal:

"250 guardsmen. with two inquisitors with null rods for our command squads. Knock yourself out, but just let me know when you are ready to concede"

This is especially good because of the fact that it's referenced as a counter to Lash/Jaws. Can you imagine how the conversation went to determine that tactic? The mind boggles.

Silver Medal:

"me guess would be anything that can take out a DP as soon as possible.... Or The stormcaller.... maybe Grey Knights With a Vindicare paired with mech guard to null both powers?"

Oh No! They are going to beat us with their Jaws/Lash! Quick, let's beat ourselves by playing Grey Knights! What'll we do if we win, though? I mean, it could happen. Good point, grab the Vindicare.

I can't even imagine how this was to work. How does a Vindicare stop you from getting Lashed/Jaws'ed? Does he blow open the rhino and hope they get pinned? Does he shoot the sorcerer over and over until he dies? And what does it have to do with the Grey Knights? The whole thing is insanity.

I didn't think anything could top that one...but there's this gold mine.

Gold Medal:

"Not really. If you're good at positioning and using range, then Lash can be helpful, but is not really all that good.

Every time I bring lash in my Chaos army, I wish I had brought my flying nurgle prince instead."

There's simply....I mean...what? And then he Doubles Down, with the second line! He's a CSM player! Who uses Lash! Who wishes he used Nurgle DP's!

I'm going to Sig that one, methinks, or add it to the monolith line. My sig will be an ever expanding testament to wargaming wisdom.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

I gotta you man you sound totally ignorant and well... pretentious thinking that we're idiots or bad players for our ideas. You gave me the "Silver medal" and i am not a GK player, all i know is that the vindicare can be taken by them and that 2 wounds for 1 and picking out someone in a squad would be great for taking out a sorcerer/stormcaller and within 2 turns able to possibly take out a DP.

Now I am a chaos player and i can tell you outright that a lash DP with wings is NOT the absolute build for a DP out there, Yes Lash can save your ass by taking a unit off an objective, pussing a dangerous squad away, forming great targets for pie plates and assaults but you also have to realize that this prince is only at T5 and is far more vulnerable than a Nurgle DP, throw wings on a MON DP and you have a flying powerhouse and with my experience fielding two of these bad boys have resulted in dozens of destroyed IG tanks, scores of dead terminators and butchered hive tyrants. A T6 MC with wings, I5, 5 attacks on the charge and if using warptime can re-roll all failed HITS AND WOUNDS? Each turn My DPs usually take out a squad each, you have to be nuts to think they aren't effective. Lash is...ok it hasn't won me the game before but it can be neat sometimes. I try and avoid any cheese in my army and i have a pretty solid track record so far. If your going to be blatantly ignorant, keep your thoughts yo yourself

Ummm... I have the models to bring either the a Lash sorcerer or a nurgle DP or both.

I find that the nurgle DP is a better use of an HQ slot almost all the time.

for 175 points fielding 2 MON warptime winged DPs is pretty rad but if you don't have wings i wouldn't suggest it.

do you only have one DP? why not use the sorc and the DP?

Because chaos troops are killier and more durable than chaos HQs point-for-point.

Whichever one I feel like?

I more often use my lash sorc when trying to run all-foot, although I've stopped using that list as the other players in the area have become quite good.

Ah I see.

I almost always run two DPs now. Not always MON sometimes MOK or MOT but usually if these guys can (and the winged warptime almost always does) preform a sweeping advance on one ot two squads they already make their points back.

I never use a lord but to be honest... idk what to equipt them with....

I used to use a lash sorcerer and still do from time to time, rarley use a MOT sorcerer.

You want a cheesey doubles list? Easy. The two guys who won the Big Waaagh doubles tournament last year each brought a C'tan, a monolith, a squad of necrons and a bunch of scarabs. The necrons just stayed in reserve so you couldn't phase them out and when they came on they did it as far away from everything else as they could. The two Ctan killed everything.... The scarabs just held things up for them.

Two C'tan = terrible

I loved it!

space marines and tau? That would be pretty sweet.

Tau firepower combined with nullzone, psychic hoods, emperor's tarot, and mystics. Add in some tac squads and you've got good troops choices which tau don't have.

or how about a green tide ork army coupled with oblit spam Chaos, total assault and firepower....

The double C'tan list was a lot of fun. It's name was "The only thing worse than a Star God is..." The batrep is somewhere on the batrep forum. It's a strong list.
