I bet that doesn't work so well with sweat pants on. Not ever wore a pair tight enough to trust them to hold up my gun.

You just need a pair with a decent drawstring, and a compact pistol with an alloy or polymer frame.

I see no problem with Americans enjoying our rights to possession of firearms. Truth be told I trust somone more who has a registerd weapon then I do the gang bangers on the street without it. The reason being if a person takes the time to get permits, and licenses then 9 times out of 10 they are law abbiding citizens who are not going to use that weapon to commit a crime. I am not saying some don't, but a great majority just enjoy the sexyness of a finely crafted weapon. I mean look at facts most of our weapons are not even made here in the states. Benelli in Italy makes some amazing firearms, Heckler and Koch Germany, The U.K makes our mortar systems for the army, as well as the isreallis. The S.A.W and 249 machine gun are made by a belgium corp. So really short of Colt, rock River, and Bushmaster(to name a few) a majority of the most loved weapons are made outside the U.S.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

What is all this registration and permission and licensing you speak of?

Some states you can do that. I currently live in Iowa and you have to have a permit just to purchase a gun. Even from a private seller. However, if I go back to Alabama to visit family I can pick up a gun no problem and it's all legal.

I've lived in New York for most of my life, and I'm a meager 19 years old, so even though the Army let my handle AT4s, C4, Claymores and all sorts of fun things, I can't own a handgun for another two years in this state. I have owned a couple long arms, but I'm moving to California on Friday, so I'm just going to give up completely on owning firearms for a while.

Actual firearms aside, I've got a Crye Blast belt with a generic MOLLE Cordura holster. I've run the gambit on drop legs, and haven't found a single one that doesn't either flop like an epileptic on speed every time I so much as power walk, or cut off all the circulation to my leg.

I figure I'll grab a molded one once I do get around to buying a pistol. I'm rather infatuated with the Springfield XD, but I haven;t been looking around recently, and don;t know if anyone makes a molded holster for them yet.

I suppose the good thing about being in California is it's proximity to Nevada... I'd love to get a storage unit for my collection.

FWIW you can own a handgun in CA. The thing is, the 'make' and 'model' have to be on the states 'approved' list, and your magazines will be limited to 10 rounds max (So get a .45 1911 or something so you don't have to sacrifice capacity.)

The XD has become a very popular sidearm. I know most holster companies offer something that will fit. The XDm just came out as well, you might want to check it out.

I was never a fan of drop-leg holsters. As you said it's very hard to get one that is comfortable and offers the proper retention. At this point, I'm sold on OWB.

If you need more information about the legalities of certain firearms check out calguns.net, it's a very popular firearm site for CA residents and visitors.

Take care,
7

But I have much respect for the growing pro 2A segment of their state. Those guys are really pushing the CCW issue via Open Carry.

Coke goes good with anything...even Pepsi can be made tolerable by mixing it with Coke.

I'm just surprised a State ran by a man known for killing lots of people with guns would have such strict gun laws (not to mention all the illegals bringing crime in with them).

Tis a funny lot of people.

It just makes me laugh that there is still an obvious South/North divide. They seem to have that in every country on earth! In England we up north call southerners poofters and they call us monkeys etc..

A guy in Spain told me it is the same there too, and im sure in lots of other countries too.

Sounds like a good plan.

You know what's funny? All my guns, Every - Single - One, is illegal in CA.

Chances stand it's one of the few states I'll never truly visit. (Drove through N. CA to get to Oregon when I was younger, that's it.)
