Pinnignis your best friend with metal models. Teh superglue drys quite brittle and limbs can soemtimes snap off. Pinnign will make a very tight bond and stop this happening.

on a side note. Before you glue the model together, give it a scrub with an old toothbrush and some warm soapy water. this will get rid of the residue from molding that can make them a real pain to paint.

You asked about how to get rid of mould lines.

Get yourself two sets of files:

http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/892_1_1036455.html
http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/892_1_18491.html

The warding files will deal with any larger model filing taks you may come across.

The needle files are like miniature versions of the warding files. They are good for getting into tight areas.

Be careful when filing as you can easily take off too much metal or plastic. You need to get used to the feel of things.

£23 may seem like a lot of money just for some files but they will last you for years to come.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

For heavy bits: Drill, Pin, and Super Glue.

For lighter bits: Super Glue.

For all bits that leave unseemly gaps, Green Stuff to hide the gaps.

Superglue is the answer to most of life's questions.

How do I assemble metal models?

How do I attach plastic bits to metal models?

How do I get my kids to be quiet on Saturday mornings?

How do I get my neighbor's dog to stop barking?

How do I cure jock itch?

How do I keep my pants up if my belt breaks and I don't have any suspenders?

Ok, so I managed to get most of the mold lines off with the half-round file, and I just primed him today.

Thank you, everyone.
