I just started 40k at either the very end of 2008 or very beginning of 2009. I splurged a good 2k on buying around 3000-4000 points of SM, scenery, paints, etc. I recently also decided to start necrons, so a lot of money has gone to things which will attribute to their snow theme. I hope to have them finished soon with pictures

I started off this year with about $500 in FW goodies (mainly finishing my Elysians) and also finished my BA and started and finished my standard IG. 2010 will be the year of the Inquisition, as I have plans for a Witch Hunters Army.

Im not sure ...

I mostly started out in my SM army in the end of 2008 and till summer 2009 , and i probably spend a lot of money on that . I dont have the patience to calculate it all , but here it is :

- Space Marine Battleforce
- AoBR
- Space marine Captain
- Bikes x3
- Thunderfirecanon
- Loads of paints , probably tripled my collection
- Same with the brushes
- Got myself three new display cabins
- Remade our apartments storage room to be a painting station , that involved a new desk and some new posters .

So yeah .. I think its about $500-ish ...

Let me think, I started my ork army this year, bought about 3 boxes of boyz, a box of nobz, snikrot, a big mek, a trukk and a battlewagon, pitched in with a friend and bought AoBR, bought myself the BGB, and the codex...and I might by another codex before the year ends, so close to $400

Not including tournament entry fees and gas to get there probably 100-150 bucks. All the stuff ive bought though has been either used and or with tournament winnings, so that 100-150 bucks has netted me around 2000 points in models.

Around $460.
From what I remember, I paid half for an Imperial Sector set (brother paid other half), and got a FW Pre-Heresy Land Raider, Combat Squad, Command Squad, Attack Bike, SM Battleforce, 'Nid Battleforce and pre-ordered the 'Nid Codex. Also ordered some BA Honour Guard, Death Company and a Chaplain with Jump Pack.

To be fair, I would have spent a LOT more, but I only got back into the hobby later in the year.

I have been saving the last couple of months whilst waiting for the new nid release...hope that counts.

I spent considerably less this year than I did the year before, just over $500 (this includes supplies, minis and postal cost on swaps).
Considering that for the most part there is very little in current production by GW that I'm interested in,I should be spending much less this coming year.

Sounds like that completely defeats the purpose of this hobby, but good on you for not letting "the man" get some money out of you for this awesome hobby.

Well, it's only because I just don't have any money. Trust me, if I could, I couldn't even begin with how many armies I would make, how many pieces I can buy, but right now I'm enjoying the game aspect of it.

Whoever said they spent 10k+ is either a shop, they're lying, or they're stupidly rich and they have a shed full of unopened boxes!

Even if I had the money I couldn't spend more than 1000 UK pounds in a year.

Would be fun to tho!
