Power Scythe for the Chaos inclined?

I might have to get one of these to use as the Baron of my Household...

Thank you The Scythe is for Leviathan Mortis, the skull headed Mech. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wKWFulxficg/SxmK6agEI9I/AAAAAAAAAPk/6_0U55e2ZZo/s1600-h/Leviathan+Mortis+Death+Head.jpg He is a close combat deamon; Mauler fist and Scythe but still has two moderate cannons in his chest for some ranged combat.

When I get a chance I'll render out each varient with its correct weapons.

Looking good Mark! I'll be buying at least one of the large scale Leviathans and probably a few of the smaller dudes.

Under the couch

Looking good.

Hard to tell without the rest of the critter attached to it, but the 'powerfist' arms look a little short and stubby.

Likewise, the scythe looks cool but doesn't look like it would have much of a swing.

Otherwise, gorgeous work.

Looking very nice. Great to see things happening again.
This goes into what I think is a misconception. Knights aren't that big. 8-10 is a large margin of error for scale to be calling "right". Comparing a "knight" to a Reaver or Warhound would make it 7-8". 10" is linearly 25% too large, volumetrically almost 50% since you have to maintain proportions.

http://www.epicast.com/lostbanned/EpicastKnight.jpg This guys a little small but its closer and is more in keeping with the epic scale comparison of epic infantry to knights, which makes it smaller.

Unlike the Reaver or Warhound the Knight is a crew of one. On some level its a dreadnought with one of the warhound's reactors strapped to its back.

Now... DreamForge-Games isn't making a "knight" so they can do what ever they like. Looking at their CAD models, and assuming they want this to "heroic 28mm scale", if this were a one man vehicle, the logical cockpit configuration would be one where the head lifts open for the pilot to get in and out. That said the opening where the head is should be about 28-32mm in diameter or 6.5" to 7.5" tall. If it were 10" tall the head would be about 42mm in diameter.

Overall I think it looks amazing and I'm glad to see DFG getting back to work on this. This time don't let the "bullies" ruin it for you.

Hi Mark,

Just had a quick read of the .PDF file - I haven't gone through it in detail, but from my initial skim, I have a couple of points...

1. Overall, looks good...makes sense, art is fantastic, and has a "vibe" that I think will resonate with sci-fi players.

2. There are a few typo's and grammatical errors... I know you said it's "for fluff and fun", but if it is going to be used as part of a rulebook or background eventually, it would probably pay to have it proof read and checked over for consistency.

3. For presentation purposes, would it perhaps pay to seperate out the sections ie. have distinct chapters, e.g. background, then Leviathans, then technology / components, then weaponry, then VR5 variants?

These are just my initial thoughts - hope they help. I would love to see Dreamforge succeed.

On another note, do you have any idea when your Leviathan models are going to be available for purchase to the general public, with the weapon variants?

Cheers,

Padre^.

What height will it be in?

Also will there be different weapons for it, preferably made so that they can be magnetized on.
When I think about it, better make the arm and leg joints moveable if possible, its a waste to have to stick such a nice model into one pose.

Thanks for the input Padre! thats just what I needed.... unfortunately I knew there would be grammatical errors, I'm a victim of the california school system English never was my strong suit. Now if I can just talk my girlfriend into proof reading my dribble

Glad to hear you like the vibe... thats the one area I put allot of effort into. Agreed about the sections as well, I will do some revision before folding it into a rule book.

As far as purchase, I will release the first two in a few months. May? then the other three within three to four more months. After that, on to more designs and factions.

9.5"-10" to the top of the back.
All weapon arms will be interchangeable via a twist release and every weapon in the PDF will be available at some point.
The models are very movable, all the joints twist and pivot, although the legs and waist will need to be posed and glued, the arms can stay free to move.

Not yet.. I'll take a look at it. I sure could use the time saved by a plug and play system.
