Still loving them. They look really cool as a unit, especially with those bases. Don't let the distractions keep you from the sylvans for too long though, we want to see more

I finished up the assembly and green stuff work on the new Jabberslythe. I like the idea of this beastie, but I really don't dig the winged frog imagery. Consequently, I decided to go a different way with it, and here is the result:

Let me know what you think of him! He'll have a bit of paint on him in a few days.

Heavily purple I think. I'm not sure what to do with the pinions or the bone plates yet, but the eye will be yellow and the claws grey (as per the satyrs).

Fantastic theme, sir. I was impressed with the modelling- the greenstuff work is smooth and doesn't detract from the models at all. And the bases are great!

I was a bit skeptical about the WoW paint job, but I stand corrected- that style of painting is a winner.

Correct. Despite countless millennia of evolution, technological advances and civilization, we're still monkeys throwing feces at things we don't like.-Zed.

Imperial Flyers don't actually "fly" they just go fast enough that they fall in an arc that keeps them parallel to the ground. -Clockwork Zion

Hi mate

Loving the look of your army.
Care to share the way you paint your blue, it's fantastic!!

They really look fantastic!!

The blue works great and I love those drunk beastmen.

The only think I'm not keen on is the Centaurs Bonze gutplate thing, imo they looked better in the first pictures without.

Goodwork¬!

Updates away!

I finished up the Jabberslythe this morning - here he is:

He looks nothing like the flying toad demon the fluff describes, but then, I think that's a good thing. There's no place in this list for a flying toad.

Next up, I'm working on a Cygor and another unit of satyr's.

I'm also thinking about this guy http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/animal/latest/03052#detail/03052_G for the ghorgon. I think a giant purple monkey would do wonders for the theme. Reaper also makes a great set of wolf models that will probably be playing the role of warhound in the army - we'll see.

In the mean time, I've got a few ork warbuggies on the desk for my freebooterz list, so more to come for the sylvans in a bit.

Thanks for reading,

Jabberslythe looks cool, haven't yet decided if I like the blank eye or would prefer a pupil, but good job.

And I think there's room in every army for a big purple monkey.

I know what you mean about the pupil - I haven't decided whether to go with a slit pupil or leave it blank.

It's been a while, but these guys are getting a big update today.

First up, I've finished the centigor/ wild rider unit and added Ghorrus Warhoof (sp?). These guys were a ton of fun to paint - the wild rider sculpts are really dynamic, and with a little repositioning of the horse bodies on the base, the unit looks pretty rambunctious.

Next up is a big guy - the cygor/treeman. It hurts my feelings a little that he's 50 points cheaper in the storm of magic book, but he's joining the army none-the-less. This is a great resin model from maximini - my only gripe was the head choices as they didn't include a relatively human looking head. No biggie though, this head fits the bill.

And I got a few characters finished. First is this guy, a bray shaman/spellweaver. The model is a sylvan animae model from the Confrontation range (it came with a pack of the wolfen models I found). It's neat, and it's forestish, so it's in!

And this guy, a beastlord/wood elf hero. I had the model floating around my bits box, and I'm a big fan. The sculpt is great, and with a set of woolly leggings, he fits into the army nicely.

I can run the list at 2500 points now, so it'll sit here for a bit, but next up will be another unit of satyrs and a second fawn regiment.

Until then, I hope you enjoy them!

Nice to see some more progress on these guys

The centaurs look great, like the runes on Wahoof's flank. And that maxmini cyclops looks great in purple. Good job all round guy!
