How about Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising?
I tried a little bit of it on the PC and it seemed fun.
Not sure how it is for a console. I bought it for the 360 but have yet to open the game.
I hear a lot of good things about Mass Effect 2.

Have Dead Space. Wasn't scared at all. It was actually just more like "Oh. One of those things again. Boom. There go your legs. I win."
got the achivement for only using the one gun and went "what !?! Why would i use any thing else?". About the only scary part was at the start ... wait why am i the only one without a gun!
There were a couple tricky bits for that, but yeah it wasn't so bad.
Why do I not See Counter-Strike here? Why is there a PC player who does not own counter-strike in some form, when it is clearly the pants when it comes to online FPS gaming?
also, this is one of my favourite games. It has a fantastic story, a neat mix of side-scrolling and RPG elements, alot of replayability...and its free...

But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. I bought a Half Life 2 GOTY Edition for PC a few years back. It had HL2, HL2:E1, some other crap, and Counter-Strike: Source. Couldn't play it, because as I found out after dishing out $$$ on a nonrefundable, non-sellable PC game, it required Steam. This was my 1st encounter with Steam. I have avoided it like the plague since. I still haven't played DoW 2 and never will because guess what? Steam. I would consider getting the new DoW2 expansion, except I'm pretty damn sure it'll use Steam(ing pile of f***ing sh**!)

Anyone know a good site where I can buy a digital copy of AoEII Gold? I've searched Gametap, Steam, and Google-fu'ed the tits out of Age of Empires II Gold Ed, but it's im-freaking-possible to find! I don't want to wait for crappy UPS to ship it from microsoft. I'd rather take 10 minutes to just buy and direct download it.

While I agree with you, I can see why people have problems. There is a loss of control which nobody appreciates, especially geeks. Also, it does seem to be a horribly unreliable program.

Huh. Others must have had worse experiences than me. For me, it seems to be one of the most reliable programs on my computer; when I lost my internet for no reason (No browsing, and couldn't get on any IM programs) Steam was the one program that would still run in Online mode. Not sure why.
