Out of the armies I Play :

Tau, does well at 500, because when you fire that many S4-5 shots at something, it will die. Then again around 2000 starts to do well, I feel cramped at 1500. Due to how much point pathfinders+ Devilfish investment takes

Deamons: I'm biulding them mainly for WFB but played 4 games at 500 and lost 3 of them.

With regards to the Dark Eldar Codex, it was also written fresh out of 2nd Edition, when armies were much smaller. By the time the Inquisition Codices came out, the developers had a feel for how much larger the games could be and still be quicker than a 2nd Edition game. This is why they don't scale up past 2000 points very well.*


*This is pure conjecture on my part. Any relation to actual fact is just a lucky guess, really. Let's see how many people take this as "correct" instead of "a possibility".

My marines do great in the 1500-1750 range. 2000 is iffy for me. And my 1000 list has sterngaurd and a vindicator, so all good to.

I played a 1250 pt game the other day, which went really well. I don't think I'd like to play anything higher than 1500.
