Tallarns all the way, them and mordians. I'd love to make bloodpack army using plastic mordians.

But really tallarns.

DEATH KORPS OF KRIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEG!

Meh, I don't really like any of the armies besides those, I'll be opening up a painting blog soon for my "Beastguard", which is basically cadians with beastmen heads, horns, banners, etc.

Elysians. I love the concept of drop troops. Now drop troops in the 40k world? Plain awesome.

I like Elysians and Tanith first and only. I included some of both in my army but the metals are pricey.

Dammit, KK, now you're making me want those too

I don't like the idea of Death Korps in plastic. As good as GW's plastics are right now, they wouldn't match the detail present in the existing DKoK models. Also, that would be stealing a hell of a lot of Forgeworld's thunder. Didn't they have to open a whole new factory just to accommodate Death Korps? I seem to recall hearing something similar.

PS: A combined Mordian/Praetorian kit would have a special reserved place in my heart and credit card bill.

Tallarn and Tanith. The bodies and kit would be VERY similar to start with. Light fatigue pants, puttees for ensuring the pants don't snag or let material seep into the boots(sand for Tallarn and various debris for the Tanith). Light body armored chest(simple flak vest, ala the old metal Cadian models), a lighter helmet like the Elysian pattern helmets or the current ones you see on Special Forces operators today. Heck, you could even throw the Catachans into this mix if you do it correctly.

From the books the Tanith don't Really use helmets except for the Scouts who have a special cap for their parade uniform, they stay light. They come issue with camo cloaks and are light infintry. They are a single Regiment and have absolutely no vehicles of their own.

You could easily use slightly altered Catachans *add the camo cloaks from the Command Squad box and also some green stuffs*. And you could easily pull out the 3rd/4th ed. Codex for the Light Infantry doctrine and for the Rules for Colonel-Commissar Gaunt.

GW also sells the Command Squad (including Gaunt) for 30 bucks in their Imperial Guard Collectors models.

The Tanith don't really use their helmets...unless it's needed. The Belladons most recently brought a new pattern helmet with them for the Tanith, so we'll see how that goes.

But either way, the Tanith and Tallarn need a redesign to be made into plastic. "Light" and SpecOps styled infantry would go over well.

I second the Tanith First and Only! I like the current minis, but metal and lack of variety is annoying. Plus tracking down OOP models on ebay is more trouble than it's worth...

"Give me a gun, a google-eyed alien to shoot it at, and I’ll die a happy man." - Guardsman Franx, 13th Penal Legion AKA Schaeffer's Last Chancers.

This is my lasgun. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My lasgun is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my lasgun is useless. Without my lasgun, I am useless. I must fire my lasgun true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before The Emperor I swear this creed: my lasgun and myself are defenders of the Imperium, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

The problem with the Tanith is that there's only one regiment of them (the first and only). Making special models for a group of only a couple thousand would be almost as absurd as releasing a full model range for a single space marine chapter.

Vostroyans are some of the best-looking models I've seen in any game ever... can't think of a single reason why GW limit the plastic sprues to Cadians and Catachans because the IG range is fantastic

Actually...the Tanith can be moved ahead quite a bit.
The Sabbat Worlds Crusade was a long(relatively) time ago. By now, the Tanith may have won their prize world and moved on from there.

Problem is we won't know till Abnett finishes the story arcs

Edit- OT, but the needle in the hand of the Vostroyan medic model is HUGE! I think he got it from Fabius.

Tallarn!
I'd love to make a Guard army that comes from the planet Filastin, that has been taken over by people from another planet that claim a bogus religious reason for doing so and thus have the support of the Imperium. Plus painting lots of kuffiyehs!

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1
