I have rejected the raptor pack i dea in the end and have ordered a couple of valkyrie engines which i will chop down and mount on his back.

I am also ordering the siege arm tomorrow.

One question.......do DPs go on a termie sized base or a dread sized base?

What I've done with my Daemon Prince is to repositioned him so he sort of "crouches" over a wrecked russ turret, with his feet replaced with the old GW fantasy dragon feet and also cannibalised it's wings for the same Daemon Prince conversion. then I used a spare Ogre Tyrant "hammer arm" and glued the hand and hammer onto the otherwise daemon sword wielding arm. lastly, I used the "horned helmet" defiler head with its horns clipped and filed down. the dragon wings were then "40k-ised" with the leftover "backpack" vents from the daemon prince kit and some bionics at the base of the wings.. That was mine Iron Warriors Daemon Prince conversion..

As to answer your question; For some reason, god knows why, GW sends the Daemon Prince out to the stores with a terminator sized base.. should have been a dreadnought sized base, but nowadays, one can only wonder and shake his/hers head in disbelief what GW does..

So i can make it on a dread base and it will be legal. Goody.



update: the nice bloke at my local GW store gave me a wraithlord base to use. hurray! Still waiting on the valkyrie engine but the sige arm looks great!

Just a quick update. Principal assembly is done. I'll post pics later tonight if i can. Valyrie engine ended up being chopped down pretty much by 50% to avoid looking stupid.

Just some greenstuff work to do and i can start painting.

Inquisitor scale makes for fantastic Daemon Princes. I'm sure you can find ol Krieger 'Krash' Thrax on ebay or something. His big metal arms might be just what you're looking for....



Oh, and Terminator AND Dreadnought sized bases are both legal. The Nurgle Daemon Prince is mounted on a 60mm, but regular Daemon Princes still come with 40mm. Take your pick...

I've already built the model. I ended up using the dreadnought assault drill arm. left the left arm as stock.
For the head i used the defiler head with horns, chopped the horns off and now have wires and cables goign from the mask back into the DPs neck.

Here are the pics i promised. I still have to pin and attach the left arm (which be stayign as stock) and do some greenstuff work to blend in the engine. But i'm pretty happy with it so far.

that's no daemon prince! that's a Inquisitor scale Stormboy! albeit a tad power-armoured and chaosy, though. hehe

kidding aside, you might shorten the Valkyrie's engine a tad.. otherwise, it's almost scary how good it fits on a Daemon Prince!!!! Love the assault drill arm!

Nice! Was a little skeptical of the Valk engine use but it looks good so far.

That looks really good. Very Iron Warrior-style.

My only criticism wouldbe that the cable bundles aren't thick enough. Maybe add a larger-diameter cable to the bunch, and/or drill holes into the horn areas into whichthe wires run?

I was plannign on buying a guitar string but i have no idea what size i would need. Any suggestions anyone?

When I did mine I just built a cube, covered with spikes and hatches and a plethora of Titan (epic scale) weapons, on a flying base....

For bits, try taking a look at Privateer Press's bits services, steampipes and wires from the Thunderhead and Mule, or full limbs form some of the Khador Jacks might too, Lich Lord Terminus has Biomechanical wings, and a fair number of the Cygnar jacks have big hammers...

I think you need the black and yellow safety stripes on your armor parts...i have some ideas for that conversion, maybe i will buy a dp.
