Either way, I know which way I'll be playing it, and which way I suspect the FAQ will go.

And that is that for this purpose, being in cover means occupying area terrain.

Of course. But YMDC is about what the rules say, not how we would choose to play it.

"cover you are touching or IN" doesnt allow much leeway.

So what's your opinion of smoke screens? (smoke launchers) Are you not IN the smoke screen that you produce?

Also with regards to the KFF, are you not INSIDE the KFF?

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

"cover they are in" /= "in cover" - you asumed they are equivalent. Similar difference to "can not move" vs "will be moved" - similar words, different meanings.

The former requires you to be in something physical, the latter doesn't.

Cover is cover. It's defined on pages 21 and 22 of the BRB. No where is it limited to physical terrain pieces. The hive guard implies terrain, but doesn't redefine what cover is for the purpose of the impaler cannon rule.
