It makes me smile every time someone says "If they do X I'll quit!"
I always want to say "No you won't. You enjoy painting, and modelling, and playing far too much to ever truly quit. More so, you love complaining about the hobby too much to ever quit."
People quit because they can no longer afford the hobby, because they get families and suddenly find themselves without time, or because their friends stop playing and they don't have or want to go to a FLGS and so lose their drive. They don't quit because squats or space-monkeys got rereleased, or because GW took out their favourite hero. As much as they'd like to think of themselves as 'noble martyrs for the cause of nothing'.

^Excellent points here. Just because some rules were altered, your space-robots are no longer the top dogs, or your shiniest space-robot is now no longer for sale or whatnot, isn't something that should be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I love the fact that almost everyone has differentiated their distaste from the bandwagon distaste. From the looks of the poll, that's one of the smallest bandwagons ever! More like a bandscooter.
Of course that's the answer I gave. A superior being such as myself is never on something so crude as a bandwagon. Or scooter.

The choices are poorly worded and place too much emotional emphasis on a problem based on disappointments steming from identifiable fiscal desicions. I am not suprised that the poll options are written up that way as too many times a dispassiionate arguement on logical grounds, for or against is written off as an emotion fuelled 'rant'.
I chose option 1 as it is the closest to my position, but covering my reasoning, not my behaviour.
I do defend GW on some issues, such as not outsourcing manufacturing, but more poiniently I am also friendly to all staff and hobbyists I meet, even the GW top level managers I saw on their rounds.
I dont hate GW, I despair at GW, big difference.
However I cannot go with option 2 because when I see pretty much any anti GW commentary I see some logic to it, and am very reluctant to write off critique are 'more haterz' as few if any grievances are baseless. I doubt anyone here truly 'hates' GW , not even HBMC, he/I just 'hate' how they are behaving, which is very different frankly.

I haven't been back here for almost a year and am greeted by a poll i suggested probably a good 6 months before that
I find as Starfox stated above that more important things like life, family (getting a wife, a dog and a new house) have dragged me away from my hobby. Landscaping/house chores have become my weekend occupation.
To Orlanth: Yes you nailed this one. The poll options are deliberately emotional, as mostly tongue in cheek, but with the truth of the matter being that a great deal of emotion is seemingly involved whenever this issue comes up, over, and over, over...etc

Like the majority of people, I also chose #2. While GW certainly does things that annoy me, it's a corporation and out to make money; plain and simple. To be honest, I'm much more ticked off when I read about the record quarterly profits oil companies make while at the same time seeing how much it costs to fill my tank. Actions by big oil, insurance companies and the like have much more of a negative impact on my quality of life than GW raising its prices again or making a lousy Codex.
Compared to real adult life, I find some of the gripes and negativity on this site pretty over the top. Sure I don't like some of GW's business decisions, but that just means that I'll either buy less (or in the case of White Dwarf, stopping completely) or more proactively look to 3rd party manufactures. At the end of the day, GW produces a line of miniatures I generally like to paint and fluff I enjoy reading all of which allows me to have the occasional pleasant evening gaming with my friends.

I chose option 3 - though really I think I'm more between 2 and 3. Most of the criticism against GW is completely valid (and too quickly dismissed) but it's clear that some people are just looking for things to bitch about.
It's not surprising that option 2 is the overwhelming winner though, as it's the only choice worded to seem like a reasonable response.

I picked the first option though, just saddening to see the decline over the 20 yrs of playing. But I got over it and now playing a much wider variety of games, which is great!

#2 for me. A lot of their newer business choices have been poorly thought out and badly executed. Yes a lot of 'I hate GW and wish to burn thier houses down' stuff is OTT, but there is always a reason that people get pissed at a company....

GW is the gaming equivalent of the girlfriend who gives awesome head but has a really crappy attitude about everything. You can marry that girlfriend, or find another one, but it'll still be the same thing.
"Man, Games Workshop is such a bitch. She spends all of my money, insults my friends, and tells me I'm a loser."
"So break up with GW."
"No, man. I think we're gonna work it out. I think I love her."

Some of it may have been the phrasing, as well. The first option basically asks if you are completely blind with hatred about your toy company (which I am, but just sayin') :|
Whereas the second option is phrased sensibly, with a balanced approach. O HEY THAT'S ME CUZ I ONLY DISLIKE THE BAD PARTS OF GW
