I'm not sure if I could place myself on this poll. Sometimes I find myself teetering between choices one and two, because while I do like the 40k universe enough to memorize fluff (yes, I said memorize) and offer monies to them, there are times where I feel like chucking a tank at their Headquarters for some of the various poor choices they make. Price hikes? C'mon, I'm a poor college student. Cut me a LITTLE slack now and then. Necron transports? Seriously, even if this was for the sake of selling more stuff, this seems dumb. Matt Ward? THAT SON OF A ... well, actually no, I can't say that quite yet, I have yet to read the new Necron codex, so I must reserve judgment for now.
Yet despite all of this, I still will buy their products when my wallet can handle the punishment, and for the time being I don't think I'll stop playing. The experience of going out and finding other people who share my passion of painting and playing 40k miniatures is a very enjoyable one. Finally, other nerds I can have a fun with!
My point being (and it's a very long-winded one, with much and whatnot) is I can't put myself on any of the choices provided on this poll. Perhaps there should just be a 1 to 10 scale poll instead of these answers?
Okay, end of rant.

They deserve all they hate they get to be honest, if they could charge you in body parts they would and the quality of the system itself and a certain material ( I won't say it) seems to going downhill at points. If your gonna charge those prices your games should be as close to flawless as you can get it and sure ain't that...yeh I chose the hate option lol

While I am sometimes disappointed with some GW decisions and strategy I don't hold a grudge against them. They are a company and companies have to earn money. Since we do not know their exact figures it is pointless to claim they are just greedy when raising prices. After all I am thankful that GW is still there and I can still use models I bought in the early 90ies.

Number 2. GW is still the main wargaming company, and as long as they continue to dole out good Warhammer and Warhammer 40k stuff, I'll always love them and collect their stuff.
However, that doesn't mean I can't see their flaws: like high prices, unbalanced Codicies, sometimes dodgy fluff, some iffy model kits (Stormraven + Finecast, I'm looking at you), and so on.
I'm not married to them, I'll collect some INFINITY when I want superior models to paint and some Dystopian Wars when I want steampunk-fleet action and some HoMachine when I want to paint Magically-Directed-Soviet-Russian-Steam-Powered-Mech-Bots, but unless GW changes in a significant way for the worse, I'll still be collecting Dark Elves for a while.

GW are soulless business men who are generally out for our money, but then again I think all businesses do that.
Their fluff is starting to become a joke, and it's more of a joke topic now. Their prices are more than annoying and tend to break bank (consider production costs).
But, unfortunately, They are equally impressive with the bad, as the good, so yeah they do alot of annoying things, but It's a sacrifice for the hobby, plus, do you know how hard it is finding good Ork minis that aren't done by GW? >___<

Its really really hard to defend GW, I tried it once, but it seems for every one thing you will stand up for they give you 30 things to "wtf?" at.
Finecast is a good one, switch to a material 1/10th the cost of the previous material and increase costs? The embargo doesnt help either. Really the the final nail for them with me was when the local GW had one of the higher ups there and he told the store manager that he should ban all the regulars and create a newcustomer base to increase sales....
The higher ups are beyond reason or redemption, and they are the ones running the ship, absolutely blinded by ignorance.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Other than the fact thta fine cast sucked and 40k is a boring game GW is fine. My favorite 40k products are made by Fantasy Flight Games.
Oh, I have to add though, that many of the anti-gw crowd seem to be anti-gw because they are against whatever company is largest (same people who hate walmart and microsoft). I don't know if this comes from some sort of underdoggism or anti-capitalism. It is annoying however to see political sentiments so obviously thrown into consideration when judging the products of a company.

I see a lot more people who actually care about the games and universes, and have seen the slow degradation of quality in both the fluff and the company who produces them. Or, at least, cared.

This. Honestly, I still care. Hell, I don't even hate the new fluff that much. I'm actually very sad with the direction GW has taken. I hope they change, but I don't expect them to. Oh well.

Are GW perfect?? Hell no, of course not! Their models have a tendancy to be somewhat overpriced, and the rules/general gaming system isn't perfect. But at the end of the day, some people will just never be happy, no matter what GW does. And it's those people that will shout the loudest, especially on the internet. The loudmouth malcontents are the vocal majority, and tend to blow everything waaaaay out of proportion. GW ain't perfect, but they ain't Satan incarnate, either. They have a fun game, by far and away the strongest background fluff and universe, and a whole load of just bloody fantastic miniatures which are a joy to model, convert and paint.
Ain't nothing black and white, it's all shades of grey, baby

Go to a GW store when one of the higher ups are there and you'll be completely disgusted with the company.

The only thing I do not like is how slow they are to update codex.
If they wanted to make money they should have each on a 2-3 year rotation, they will be able to fix the meta game by not letting an army get rotfstompped because they are out of date.
They do not have to introduce new units in every codex but they can tweak points or stats to balance the field. Maybe every 4-6 years they remove and add new things. It will fix a lot of issues with some things not getting bought or played I am sure they deal with. When is the last time somebody bought a flash gitz.
