Pretty much; the swords are supposed to be a bony growth from the arms, just like scything talons. It's not something the tyranids hang on to and can drop, it's fully integrated into the organism.

So while it looks interesting, it's, huh, not very fitting so far, unless there's a special arm included.

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.

8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.

Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

The Bonesword is a separate creature from the Tyranid that holds it, unless they changed the fluff in this book and I didn't notice. Otherwise the sword blade is a large horn on a small creature that emits a psychic pulse along the blade, and that's what causes the instant death effect.

So it's a symbiotic creature, my mistake, I was going off from memory. Both are still supposed to be intertwined and meshed together, like all 'nid weapons though.

You know, I totally forgot that I had seen that film. It was nice not remembering that it existed somewhere in my brain. Do you have any idea how long it will take me to resupress those memories?!

Not much love for Casshern I see. I haven't seen it myself but it looked alright I thought.

As for the swords I'm not much of a fan. Not for my Tyranids anyway. Too big...they almost look like they were anime-inspired which isn't really what I'm after.

Wow, more great tyranid add-ons! With this and the heads in the other thread... I'm getting tempted...

When will we get to see the second two designs???

Yeah, being a nid player first, I would want an arm with the sword attached.

In 2nd edition Nids all the weapons were seperate creatures. From 3rd edition on they have evolved to be growths and true symbiotes with the host creature itself. Everything is growing together and you cannot truly seperate the weapons from the controller anymore.

Nice looking sword, but it looks more Dark-Elf/Eldar, Chaosy or Undead to me.

an arm attached is not an option we`ll consider :( . mostly because we`re after "generic" bits - if you`d like to use them on GW `nids or let`s say Reaper deamon that`s fine with me. It`s Your choice how you`ll use bits we make.
Adding an arm would make such bit much less generic.
Also I`m pretty sure that most of the models come with a selection of arms and hands that could be easily used for conversion. Even `nids Nick . If some nuances of the fluff in your opinion stand against making your models cooler (even though you like the bits) or if you prefer to use proxies that`s your choice either . I`m not going after what you do with your minis - they are yours and you are free to do as you please.

@Malika: those swords are larger than most of the stuff we make (around 5cm total length). They should fit slightly larger than human models like bigger creatures / deamons / etc. If it turns out there`s a demand we`ll make "regular" size versions as well .

Try adding a tiny bit of "hi tech" interwoven into the design and you´ll end up with an awesome deamon weapon.

Well I think it looks more bone sword then bio sword. By that I mean literally BONE sword

Yeah some darkage tech or some tech would make it really pop.

The sword looks great and I can't wait to see the other two: any idea when they'll be available?

Sadly I have to join with others in saying that there are few arms on tyranids that would work. Even a addon pack seperate with arms would be greatly welcome.

It's pretty decent. The original Casshan: Robot Hunter anime was much better, though.

He looked cooler in the white and original helmet, too.

yeah I know RIGHT?

I replied to this thread for the same reason that I reply to Chapterhouse. The "symbiote" GW market needs to realize that there are people that play more than just "HURR MARIENZ" and the "Flavor of the Month"

Until that speculation becomes truth via the "wallet vote", well, don't expect GW or any other company to shift the majority of what they do to 'minor' factions.

Of course, a problem with that is that in order to vote with your wallet, you need something to buy in the first place.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Holy gak that is awesome, way better than the first one in my opinion (which as a "generic" bit isn't all too bad, really).

I'm interested.
