Well, Dan Brandt got another job. The not to be discussed thing is probably (no clue) just
an employer-employee clause thingy. If GW had their own forums they'd probably have
the same for Andy Chambers or anyone else leaving.

True enough, but seeing as Andy Chambers very much left under a cloud (exactly which Cloud and why is up for interpretation) you can understand both Parties just wanting to leave it there. Whereas when Gav Thorpe left, and a few other Studio Types, they said why. Gav for example went off to become a full time author, and others simply went on to pastures new.

But I'm going to shut up now in case some think I'm trying to brew up a storm in a teacup. Struggling with neutral wording, which is never a good thing regardless of intention.

Pretty much. Take it into your local store (if of course you have one) and they'll sort it from stock where possible. IF no local store, give Mail Order a ring (not an E-mai!) and they will do likewise.

Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?

Ouze wrote:That sucks. Going off on a tangent for a sec, I got a crushed box of assault marines on Ebay once, and when the seller wouldn't help me out, I called GWS, told them that it was shrink wrapped and crushed, and they absolutely stepped up. Asked for 2 numbers on the box, told me to keep whatever i could salvage from it and I had a nice new free replacement box a few days later. I was very impressed.

Since I have just started dabbling in WM, this is unpleasant news.

That's the opposite of what happened to me... bought some Fantasy Cold One Knights off a store on ebay, and when I opened up the box (it was still in plastic wrap,) Several of the Cold One heads and legs were warped as if they'd been heated up. Seller wouldn't help. Emailed GW, was told to call them. Called them, and was told that since it couldn't be "proven" that they'd been stored properly at the store I bought them from, there was nothing they would/could do. So yeah, unusable CoKs for me.

Thank God I'm no fanboy. Fanboy sees nothing GW does as wrong. They did 2 things wrong IMO. Releasing the 3.5 CSM codex and nerfing the starcannon into the dirt because MEQ players were too stupid to use cover so whined about it until the SC became an overpriced plasma gun with a much worst profile.

I see more fanboyism amongst Warmachine players than I do 40k players. Check out the thread discussing PP raising it's prices (like GW does) and revealing it's toys are made in China for pennies on the dollar compared to GW who's manufacturing facilities are located in UK which I'm sure requires more money/model to manufacture than PP pays so PP is making MORE money off each model than GW and they just raised their prices by 50 cents per jar but the WM players accept these facts and decry GW.

Fanboy indeed I am not.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

I have to agree there, I think PP does some things better but it sure seems to me like fans are a lot more lenient with them than with GW.

When PP outright drops complete armies from Warmachine with no warning whatsoever and not even a hint of a public apology or attempt to make right to the people that spent hundreds of dollars buying them ( as GW has done) I'll be the first to give them the business.

In comparison PP gives me free stat cards for models converted from the RPG line to WM, allows fans to participate in playtesting, attends cons and is generous with prize suppot for events, has yet to remove any model from the game when switching over editions, Heck, on a personal note Matt Wilson (owner of PP) even sent me two starter boxes free of charge back in the day after a conversation I had with him at Gencon when WM was first on the scene and I had an LGS.

As soon as PP does something to irritate me I'll be sure to complain about it...

No they only burned me personally with Genstealer cultists and LATD.

Water under the bridge but it is amusing that GW fanbois are sooo eager to hate on another company that they will equate a few late replacement parts from PP with the decades of shennanigans that GW is reknowned for...

Genestealer Cultists weren't ever really "their own" army.

And Lost and the Damned *are* still playable. Provided you actually did some work to make them WYSIWYG rather than using those bitz packs and tons of mutation sprues.

CT wrote: As soon as PP does something to irritate me I'll be sure to complain about it...

as ive said ive had minor issues with PP before, one such was the problem of getting the product when it first came out, this wasnt really the problem from PP, but contact with them at the time was a bit chaotic, they kept refering me to supliers that werent able to ship within a month (strange as this wasnt very long ago). now a days that problem is fixed as there are plenty of online stores that sell PP, but at the time it was frustrating not being able to buy Widowers as they were such cool models. in the end i got them, but not thru PP or its suppliers.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
your other points are extreamly valid as well, PP's track record is vastly superior to GW. though not perfect, they far outdistance GW in costomer service. (not always to be sure) but the average customer and Vet from PP is i think more happy with the company, than say GW. because in some small part PP responds and interacts with its Fanbase a hell of alot more.

Can't blame GW for not wanting to interact on a large scale with the malcontents that crawl out of the woodwork whenever people know they're being heard by "The Management".
