Melta guns probably won't as the C'tan will only become super strong if the Necron Codex is upgraded and then they'd probably have some shenanigans to avoid it

Those vortex missiles of my Imperator class titan will remove them without a doubt.

Just overdo in firepower to make sure FTW.

( i do like this idea, no additional d6 for meltas would hurt the actual love for meltas )

Good to have some dusty unused necrons to jump on that OP codex bandwagon when it will arrive .....

Other C'tan/ Necrons can't find it, what about the random raid they made on Mars that has 'no explanation', I think that they already know it is there.

EDIT: And may be trying to awaken it.

If the Dragon is on Mars, if the dragon does "wake up" then the Sol system is gonna be in major peril.

Why? how powerful is he really?
Assuming he wakes up in a weakened state.
Assuming he wakes up at full power.

I sure as hell wouldnt like to face Imperial forces stationed on Mars let alone the backup they can call from nearby planets/systems.

It is, but it doesn't contribute enough to really require you to know the first 8 books in the series. Essentially it's just another part of the Horus Heresy, told from the Mechanicum's point of view (And the ensuing civil war as they fight over who they will support in the Heresy). Basically, do you know what the Horus Heresy is? Congratulations, you know enough to just read Mechanicum.

Also, IIRC Mechanicum also ties into Titanicus.

If my memory serves me correctly, at the end of (or near the end) when whats-her-face and the Tech Guards are left to watch over "The Book-O-Doom" (That explains everything about the Emprah, apparently) She turns around and realizes the book is gone...

Fast Forward to Titanicus, and a scribe/tech adept stumbles upon some old book (and i can't quite remember if they mention anything about what was in the book other than it proves the Emprah was lying to the Mechanicum and that he was not the Omnissiah), which causes him to crazy-go-nuts. And causes the Mechanicum forces on that planet (2 Titan legions in particular) to go toe-to-toe.

Coinky-dink? I dunno..

Well if the void dragon manage to take over mars, then the empire of man will be short of a few titans, guns, armor, tanks, and anything else that made of metal.
Majority of the remaining able bodied and armed troops will be sent to guard terra, and surround mars with what ever battleships that dont have anything better to do.
While the important guys, like the cadians will still be guarding the gate, because the gate is important, and the ultramarine will get a book called (ULTRAMARINE Enter the Void Dragon
and Blow it Up From the Inside, written by S.Goto for sure) And the necrons will see their 3rd god awakening and will soon be there to rescue their god.

IIRC the void dragon has the ability to control tech on a massive scale. What stops him from taking control of those titans or just eating them right off the bat?

What's to say he isn't already? I thought there was some insinuation that the Void Dragon may be partially the power behind the machine spirits? Doubt that's true but an intriguing idea.

When it comes to mopping up life humans are doing a pretty good job of it. He could nudge their tech along paths he likes, dosing lightly until the right moment, then rise up to feed. That's if the Mechanium doesn't trip down the path of the Necrontyr themselves.

Having read both Mechanicum and Titanicus, I would be willing to accept that the Void Dragon is on Mars and that the Emperor 'imprisoned' it there. Some speculation on that theory. Keep in mind that the C'Tan don't exactly get along with each other. What's to say that it didn't let itself be imprisoned, so that it could use man, an extremely violent race with strong psychic potential (anathema to the C'Tan), to destroy it rivals and other enemies throughout the galaxy. The Void Dragon may likely have completely different agendas than the other remaining C'Tan. Additionally, the Mechanicus takes hundreds of years to millennia to field any new technology; perhaps this could be rooted in the fact that they want to make sure they don't go the way of the Necrontyr (whether all of them are completely aware of that or not). By prevented new tech from being released widespread helps to isolate adverse side effects. If the Void Dragon has been imprisoned on Mars for 30 some odd milennia, could it be what caused rapid technological advancement at the beginning of the Dark Age of Technology? Is it responsible for the rise of the robots that almost wiped out humanity and thusly why humanity outlaws full autonomy for machines? Did it fail to do to humanity, what befell the Necrontyr or is that a much longer process than the fluff leads one to believe? Galaxy spanning wars can last milennia.

On to Titanicus and Mechanicum connections. There are references in Titanicus to Mechanicum, which made the story an interesting read. The 'Heretical Text' that was found could possibly have been the book from mechanicum, however remember that it was admitted that the document was doctored and fraudulently authenticated. The man responsible died shortly after this discovery, so whatever it stated (which Titanicus doesn't really go into) not accurate. There are also references to the conflict on Mars during the heresy; Legio Tempestus is in both novels and the bit about placing certain Princeps into the suspension tanks. Of course all the Heretic Titans that attacked that ONE 'little' forge world were likely there for a reason. Titanicus doesn's go into that reason very much, except to allude that it may be a diversionary tactic to the Sabbat Worlds Campaign.

Several sources do allude to the 'Pariah' gene, the alleged source of psychic nulls and culexus assassin, originating from the Necrons. The same sources also allege that the Necrons/C'Tan have agents walking amongst humanity. Read the Cain and Ravenor Novels, to see Nulls/Blanks in action.

Just some thoughts. Probably not very helpful. The Fluff intentionally has holes, so that players have creative freedom to write up good armies or make something new. So, a lot is left up to interpretation.

I'd love to know what references you have alluding to the creation of the Nulls by necros because as I have it the
pariah gene is the source of nulls but it does not extend from the Necros, well, not directly.

The "Old Ones" created all sentient races in the milky way univere.

During their creative excercises they understood that the Human race would succeed the Eldar in psychic potential but also understood the depredations of chaos and sought to create an human genetic strain which countered the malevolence of the then emerging chaos gods.

Thus creating the three genomes of human evolution:
Humans, Psykers, Anti-Psykers....
