Zhetsuken wrote:Your painting style is very clean, which is honestly the hardest thing to pull off. Congratz on some killer looking models. As much as I like your proxies becareful, you don't want you opponent getting confused or frustrated because you are proxying so many models. Your proxies though very creative are not intuitive so be warned that may become an issue. Other than that it looks fantastic I hope it is as much fun to play as it is to look at.

Edited for some derp mistakes

Let's be accurate here, first and foremost. These aren't proxies. Proxies are items completely unrelated to the subject matter: i.e. a coke can standing in for a dreadnought. These are pure counts-as conversions, and marvelously done. It might seem like a trivial matter, but the distinction is important.

I have the pleasant good fortune to actually get to play against this army fairly frequently, and I can tell you that in NO WAY is it hard to keep straight what is what.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

Guarding Guardian

I love the look of it, but IMHO, the models in the image labeled Ach look more like Dire Avengers where the ones you have as count as Dire Avengers look more like Guardians to me. I still think they all look amazing and would love to see this out on the battlefield.

Anung: first off thanks for pointing out the "Ach", the captions got cut off. It was suposed to say "Ach'ielles and his Dragon Knights" I run them as either Scorpions or Banshees (soon to be strictly Scorpions, it makes more sense). I know the name is a bit cheese, but I couldn't see myself naming him anything else. I do have to say that I wanted to add some armor bitz to the dragons, but I started this army four years ago and shelved it till recently, so there are some things that I would change (and still might as time goes on). I appreciate the honesty though.

M1nd1ess: Yeah those labels are messed up. I am going to try and fix them.

Deathgod: Sorry that I threw your Runepriest under the bus in an earlier post to this thread; but having the opportunity to gloat about him going down to my DA's in close combat (without retaliation thanks to Initiative 5) was just too good for me to pass up. I'm pretty sure I won't get as lucky next time though.

I did fail to mention the "Counts as" in the initial post. "Counts as" armies were brought to light in an issue of White Dwarf (issue 308, I believe) back in 2005. The article was written by Dave Taylor (one of the best conversion artists in the hobby, he has some GREAT "counts as" armies). They were deemed officially legal, as long as the models were represented in a believable fashion. Just clearing the air a bit, You don't see too many of them these days.
