I'm with Salvage on the nonsense... however, I have no problem with others seeing these things differently and using a little more finesse...

Hey, so I'm back to give the final report. I have to agree with the others about the WE nonsense but in the end, I can't hate because I play a very shooty WE army (see above). But shooty WE's are tough to play against, hell, shooty anything is tough to play against.

The other reference is what salvage said. He saved all of his wards and my ghorgon passes his stubborn 10 test (then died next turn, lol)

Ok, final report of Lonewolf GT:

Game 5: VC vs. Minotaurs:

So yea, going into this tournament I was hoping and praying that I would not meet a VC player. I knew that I would not stand a chance AT ALL, especially if I was playing a competent player. If you've read my list, I have no magic, no magic items and nearly everything is frenzied. As it was, my prayers were not answered and I read the match up list and my heart sank, final game against VC's....
I don't remember the exact make up of his list but it was something to the tune of vampire lord with some necromancers, a boat load of zombies and a big unit of black knights. Also, the bane of my armys' existence......ethereal units!!!

He gets turn 1, moves everything close to me and then raises a few small units of zombies. My turn 1 you can guess, I had to charge everything that was in front of me. What's that in front of me???? Oh look, wraiths!!!! Both ghorgons and a unit of Minotaurs had to charge a wraith unit. For static res, all I was bringing was +1 for outnumber and a banner, so +2 before dice are rolled, oh wait, I don't get to roll dice because I can't hurt him, yay!! He swings back and kills a minotaur and wounds a ghorgon. Combat res, he wins by 2, insane courage for my minotaurs which they, of course, failed. And two, count em, two stubborn 10 tests for my ghorgons. I failed every test I needed to make and there is over 800 points of my army gone by turn 2!!! I did manage to charge my lord and his unit into the side of his knights, I caused several wounds but his lord brought them all back when the restore wound magic sword (not sure the name) I lost combat by 1. Another insane courage, another fail....
At this point, I seriously thought about taking a knee in the second turn but I didn't want to be that guy and I don't particularly believe in quitting. So I stuck it out with more than half of my army gone by the second turn. So, we played it out until the 5th turn to which he had killed all of my models. I did do some wounds to him but he had completely restored every wound I had caused and all of his units were at full strength at the end of the game. He did feed me a small unit of zombies to one of my minotaur units during the game which was nice of him, lol.

So yea, 5th game was complete destruction. I didn't stand a chance and I knew it. I did the best I could but I literally had no chance of even getting a draw in this game. He played his army exactly how it's supposed to be played and whooped up on the ol' minotaurs. With no magic defense, he was free to do what he wanted and I knew it would go this way if I met a VC player so I took it well. We were done after about 25 minutes. Surprisingly, this wasn't a tournament record!!

Good player and another good game. Overall, I enjoyed the tournament and am already looking forward to next year. Thanks again all for reading.

Oomph. At least you knew what you were in for!

What causes an insane courage roll since you only lost by 2, and then only lost by 1? I have the beastmen book but I must have missed something about them only staying on insane courage... or is it because you were in combat with outnumbering fear causers? It doesn't seem like it...

So, after this experience have you considered taking chalice of dark rain and maybe a scroll caddy? You can paint him up as a zebra-style beastie, and he can be the referee
