@Mercer

I thought of razorbacks, but they don't have firing ports, do they? They only have one TL-weapon which can be fired...
Correct me if I'm wrong... 0_o I suppose I can use them for the plas part of the las/plas squads.

As for pf's on the las/plas squads, you're right, it does make sense not to take the pf, but if I replace the lascannon with MLs monoliths and landraiders will be a bit tougher to kill.

Dual vindis sound fun, provided they can get in range (or have enemies waltz into range) without dying

You are correct that Razorbacks don't have firing ports, but that is offset by that fact they have a heavy weapon that can move and fire.

for 10 points more then a rhino you get a TL-heavy bolter and lose 4 transport points, but having a long range heavy weapon makes up for it.

A good tactic for Backs is to have rhinos go in front of them while the razorbacks go behind, and because their weapons ae higher then the chassies the weapon can fire unhindered while the vehicle remains hidden behind the cheaper and less threatning rhinos.

I would recommend either the heavy bolter, lascannon, or assault cannon Rback as these weapons have worked well for me.

Vindicators are fun. 24" isn't that short on a standard table, effective range is 30" (6" movement and 24" range) use them to deny the enemy an area of the board by setting an objective inside their range and sit the vinnies in cover. One weapon destroyed can ruin the vehicles purpose permanatly though making it a paper tank.
