Right, they remove TURBO-BOOSTING cover saves. However, Ork Warbikers and Nob Bikers ALWAYS have a 4+ cover save, which Hydras do not negate.

Would just like to add that the phase sword ignores Armour and invulnerable saves in combat so they can't take any saves against cc attacks!


Not only that, but if you hit them with the Neural Shredder and kill at least 25% (which you probably will), then they'll have to take a break test on Ld 2. If they fail that break test, obviously they fall back. If your assassin is still in assault range, she can charge the broken unit. If they cannot regroup against Ld 2, they are destroyed.

This, i like. Thanks guys =] I thought the hyrda just ignored cover saves =/ And treating them like terminators is a much better way of looking at them, thanks

You really don't need anything special to counter nob bikers. Just FF them until you kill enough to force a morale check.. My Nob bikers have a bad habit of fleeing the battle before doing much harm :(

And since she doesn't scatter, you start her behind (ie between the Nob Biker's and the board edge they fall back towards) so that after they fail their Morale and run, she can still assault them, requiring them to take another Morale test (still on a 2 LD) or they are automatically destroyed.
And PBS is never wasted, even against those other armies, especially if you have a Callidus. Even without the Callidus, they can throw out a 26" range ST 8 (assuming 8 psykers as suggested) random AP large blast. Be surprised how often you can roll 9 or less on 3d6...................
