I can't speak for the OP, but I think the only time I ever got into a fist fight at a paintball field was when I was 14 and some jackass shot me in the back of the neck at under 3 feet while we were out in the 'staging' area.
I like how this thread went to, here is some good airsoft advice for you, then, paintball is better than airsoft because we shoot paint at 200 something fps and you shoot plastic bb's going somewhere around 200-400 fps, and then "I am going to hit you because you shot me wahhhhhh." Please lets get on topic.
I bought a airsoft mask for $24.99 today, I would use my paintball mask but I can't aim down the sights with it. The mask is really small, only covers my nose, eyes, and ears. It leaves two a medium sized exposed areas around my jaw so I hope I don't get shot there but I think I will.
Do any of you guys go in full gear such as army vests with like 20 pouches, ghille suits, camo everything and such?

You said 20mm BB. Not disputing that players have taken rounds to the neck, just that I doubt you're taking ones to the neck almost an inch in diameter.
My apologies, I meant to say 6mm. I had .20 gram in my head for a minute.

I would say to avoid wearing masks. They really hinder your ability to be aware of your surroundings. I would suggest using a pair of saftey glasses, and using a balaclava. Sure the balaclava doesn't 100% prevent pain from a hit, but it slows the bb down enough to reduce any significant pain. Plus it looks wicked bad ass.
Ya, I use to have a full MOLLE loadout. Cost me a pretty penny.

Only time I ever got in a fight over paintball/airsoft was a few years ago when I discovered, painfully, that we were playing with a guy that froze his paint, and pushed hot after chrono.

Ok raging aside, I think we can both agree that getting shot by high speed projectiles at close range is most likely not going to tickle. Airsoft hurts, paintball hurts, as has been said, dont be a bastard, just call em out and if they wont take the hit, then light em up. Thats the rule of the field, call yourself out, be honest and there shouldnt be a problem(except for the aformentioned A-holes out there).
And As I said before, use what you feel comfortable with in any game type. I know some people that use long rifles in CQB, waiting for those precision shots down the corridoor type deals. SOme people just use pistols. Dont get discouraged because people have expensive things, expensive does not mean they are any good, and in many circumstances, the one who pays so much for the gear, isnt the one cleaning house on the field.

oh ant QFT, as well, you can say paintballs biodegrade, but man, does it take a hell of a long time for those shells to dissapear when they accumulate...

Yeah, I kind of chuckled when I checked back and saw the paintball rage.
If you are under 18 there are some fields that make full masks mandatory. I'm older so goggles and a balaclava are legal for me. Airsoft with full gear is closer to mil-sim, some of these types of game require you only load your magazines with as many bullets as the real steel counterpart can hold. It can get pretty expensive, and I have spent more money on it than I am willing to admit, but lets just say that everything you see in this picture cost me just about as much as my 2500 points of eldar.
You're in Irvine, yeah? A couple more well known fields in southern california are Jungle Island and SC Village, both are out in the inland empire... Jungle Island being in Corona and SC village in, I believe Chino Hills. My friends and I prefer Lenix airsoft field, a bit further out in Phelan, CA. It's cheaper and much less formal. Plus the guy who runs it, we call him Oberst, is a pretty cool old dude.. retired air force guy with too much time on his hands.
Heres a little video some the guys at Lenix put together, talking about the field and players.
You guys have almost the same gear that I was issued to play Op4 against group with.
Kudos to you.
And yeah, those look like the real Crye Acu setup.
And the 1st pic looks like surplus goggles, Kpod helm (unles you got the plastic training version..cant tell with the descent cover you have on), coyote or Blackwater plate cary vest, and various pouches.

How about no?
I'm not saying it's not going to hurt to get shot that close but if your immediate reaction is to jump up and punch the other guy for it then you need to go play on the playground with the other 4 year olds.
Wussies. Back in my day we played proper games.

I dont have a picture of myself, but I have pics of my gear/guns.
CA M15A4 with about 400$ worth of internal upgrades. MOLLE Vest & G&P Mags.
TM M16A4 & Sig 552. The Sig was in pieces when I got it. It was a failed project of mine.
This was my favorite gun. KWA Glock 17. The metal slide gave it an epic feel.
The life enders...Only one was mine, the other was my buddies. KWA (I believe) Mac 10's.
IM P90. I actually got scammed with this gun. Tried selling it, and only got half the $. But the gun was absurd. Had a 30% increase of ROF, if not more. I imagined it like a compacted MG42. Sadly, never got to use it in game. This was going to be my sidearm to my M15A4 Sniper loadout.

Wow those are some nice guns you have, those mac 10s are wicked cool.
Well yesterday I was in the back testing my AK, and well my step brother accidently shoots me less than two feet away from me in the leg with his blowback desert eagle. Man did that hurt.
Well I might be going to a indoor cqb place on saturday, so any tips at cqb?

When entering a room, move in the opposite direction as the operator in front of you. Always.
NEVER STOP OR SLOW DOWN IN A DOOR! EVER!
Don't talk, use hand signals. Talk doesn't carry very far outdoors and is fairly nondirectional then. Indoors, it'll go through ducts, etc, and the OpFor will know exactly where it's coming from.
Speed.
Surprise.
Violence of action.
Now less direct tips:
Wear something on your face. BB at <10 feet in the face is less than fun.
Don't sweep your teammates with your barrel! I can't tell you how many people do this regularly, and it's worse in CQB scenarios. Remember: only point your weapon at something you want to...hit with a bb. (No holes in this case )

US marine digital camo long sleeve shirt and pants. An airsoft mask that I have to wear since I am 16 ( just two more years). Baseball gloves to protect my hands and an army hat to keep my dome safe.
I might need another mag or two for my AK, I don't think I need a vest or any thing like that. If their is any thing you guys think I need, please tell me.
Also I use 20.g bb's right now for my AK, should I use heavier gram bb's or stick with what I got?

And then you'll end up spending hours looking for gear...and spending way too much money...and freaking loving it!
IR cross scope...quad rail system made for real steel...enough pouches to store enough MREs and mags for a year (hyperbole)...4 different pairs of goggles depending on the level of milsim, the weather, and my mood...K-pod replica...2 (soon to be 3-Multicam ) complete sets of cammies (only MARPAT with full name and branch tape, though :/ )...a variiety of other things from slings to a hydration system...yeah

Never tried airsoft but it seems far cheaper than paintball.
I remember my hopper, gun and Nitrogen tank costing me around $1400 (it was an Angel Speed at the time) and paying around $200/weekend for a tournament, $100/per weekend for luxury play for paint and refills.
$80/case of 2500 rounds is a lot more expensive than like $5/2000 rounds of BB's.
I miss paintball and the thrill of it without the expense though.
