3 land raiders, 3 maxed TH/SS termies squads that can fit in them, 2 scouts (minimal) and 1 librarian pretty much fits in the points.

I have seen one like that, actually. But I doubt if it's common. However with Wolfwing (or Loganwing) lists floating around with people maxing out on terminators, I imagine landraiders will become much more common.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I will explain to you how a game against 3 Land Raiders will go...

The move forward to assault and I try to shoot them up. They then move forward and get out and they destroy a squad of guardians. Then I unload my army on them, and then hit any survivors with the Avatar and Harliquins. Then when I finish with them I go after the Land Raiders.

If you want to see it in action, I refer you too last year 'Ard Boys where I played a Black Templars army with 2 Land Raiders, a Vindicator, and everyone else in a rhino.

3 LRs... and a list full of brightlances?? That sounds like a no-brainer to me.

Why not just tank shock through the guardians and give the clowns and burny-god a beat down? Or multi-charge guardians, molest one unit and let fearless take care of the rest? How do you counter Thunderwolf spam, which can do turn 2 charges on nearly anything? That gives you 1 round of shooting, 2 if you go first before those monsters are all over you. A clown/avatar countercharge would hurt, but I don't think it could see off the cav completely and the shooting isn't likely enough to stop it. Not mentioning rune-staffs potentially shutting down your psychics. Its easy to stop a 'nilla psychic hood since there is only one, with wolves these days its not unlikely you could run into up to 4 of them. Wolf scouts? Missile spam? Battlewagon spam? That Kustom force field is a pain in the ass and with the FAQ getting changed those lists are bound to be popping up in tournaments soon. Jump pack spam blood angels? That new book looks kind of scary and a few long range BL shots won't cripple their mobility like it can to a mech list. I won't go into Tyranids right now.

I'm not trying to shoot down your list or invalidate it. I'm happy to admit that Eldar list does catch people off guard, but I don't feel its an all conquering juggernaut. It pumps out a ton of s6 and has a lot of targets which can overwhelm a person's anti-tank ability. Add to that the usual confusion of not knowing how to react to an odd list, and yeah I can see how you crank out wins with it.

Personally I think the 3 LR list is crap. Its putting way too many eggs in one basket and you are crossing your fingers for a good match-up every game. I'm not even sure who thought it was a good idea in the first place. Was it just trying to tempt all the old Dark Eldar armies out of retirement? Maybe it was just an exercise is how effective melta fire really is. Who knows.

Anywho.. I say take your Eldar to adepticon Allan. Its what you are most familiar and comfortable with right now. Don't drag an army to a major tournament across the country with an agenda of "something to prove", I figured out nobody really cares when I used to do the same thing with under powered armies. These days if I want to goof off or play a soft army, I do it in my garage. If I'm going to a tournament, I'm there to collect heads and try to bring the meanest army I have. Sure it feels good to say you wrecked people with a sub-par build, but winning also feels good regardless of the list used. If you are going to adepticon to win, go win. If you are going there to prove a point, then just take whatever. I suggest Deathwing.

BTW, let me know if you need some pre-adepticon practice games. You're welcome to play at my house any hours of the day.

I am thinking your right. I will not go to make a point, but to do will in the tournament.

I updated the lists with 2.0 versions.

And I am a bit rusty, I will take you up on those practice games.

Cool deal. let me know when is good and what you feel you'd like some practice against. If I dont own the army, you probably do and I'm comfortable taking just about anything to the table.

If I can make any advice offering (not sure how much youll take this, but I really think it will help you out)

-Drop the wraithlords
-Add fire dragons (I know you have them, saw your other bat reps)
-Add in more scatter walkers (I know you have them )
-I think dropping the 3rd guardian squad doesnt make a lot of sense, but again, I dont think guardians do much anyways. that being said bladestorm on foot makes zero sense, shoot, than you cant shoot the next turn? on foot you need every shooty opportunity.

anyways.....gl.....post a bat rep

I would have no issue bouncing all three army lists with my standard 2k space puppy list.

I would go with gk's.

A black templar army with only 2 land raiders does not a 'ard boyz list make.

5 or 6? Sure. 2? No way.

Really? You'd have no trouble taking on an 1850 pt. list from 2-3+ year old codexes with a 2,000 point list from the latest flavor of the week? You don't say!

I voted Eldar since I want to see it in person. The chaos list is okay, but not as strong...and I'm against the DH army for the sole purpose that you are using IG with it...which makes it more of an IG army than a DH army. If you want to play that list...play all GK, etc....or just play IG.

My bad.

I could easily adjust my list for 1850 and still have no issues.

You should get used to it Darth as all your lists are crap. Especially that Space Marine list you brought to the 'Ard Boyz finals last year

I'm with you though the more people say something WON'T work the more enjoyment I get when I make it not only work but shine .

Take the Daemonhunters! You'd be the coolest kid at the tournament!

That being said, I like the DH idea. But the way the army is built you basically have an IG Army with inducted Grey Knights.

If you want mobile and decent scoring units, 5 IST's in Chimera's with 2 Special Weapons (Plasmas or Meltas) is a pretty good solution.

Depends what your goals are Blackmoor, if you are going for the championship win, I'd take the best painted army since like you said, a national level player can win with anything. But if your priority is too win a spot on team america (if I remember right you are going for a spot), I say go with the foot eldar as they are the nastiest, and it sounds like your most familiar army. Foot eldar also have another advantage in a huge event like the champs because "normal" players tend to under estimate it, and have never seen it. The chances of running into one of the real contenders is pretty small, odds are you are going to be swatting noobs until round 3.

If you win with the foot eldar, you can rochemboough Sparks for who gets to play foot eldar in europe.
