Iv had a bit of a hobby-ing afternoon. After sorting out my TS kits, iv put some paint down on some more crew. They are still very WIP.

What do you think? Im unsure what colour to paint the bag, i was thinking either red or white.

All the ratios are rough, i don't tend to be exact, i just get the colour that looks right. (Valejerio paints btw)

White primer
Imperial Blue + Magic Blue 2:1 (2 thin coats)
Imperial Blue + Magic Blue + Black 2:1:1 (thin, wash into recesses)
Imperial Blue + Magic Blue + Kakki 3:2:1
Imperial Blue + Magic Blue + Wolf Blue + Kakki 3:2:3:1
all above, wet blended high lights (could layer without the blending for a similar effect)

Wolf Blue ( very thin on the most raised folds)

Mixing in stone wall grey works nicely as a highlight mix with blues too.

Pretty sure that was it. Hope that helps!

Neat.

It's kind of fun to guess which shape shaper your used for the different parts of the sculpts

Yet another update:

Im still not sure what colour to do the bag, any opinions?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Forgot to ask, but does anyone think that the red piping is a little too bright, or maybe just not the right contrast?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I was thinking about changing the Red to a golden yellow. Like the master of the fleet from GW's IG advisors.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Nearly finished the officer.

Im still unsure about the Red, and i think he just seams to be lacking something. I don't know what tho. Maybe some free hand on the coat, or maybe even a monocle, lol. One last thing im concidering changing is the brocade, from metallic to non, as i think the detail is lost in the gold.

Thanks. I think I will leave the red for now. I'm almost done with these to. I will try and get some finished pics up in the next couple of days. Iv gone for quite a loud base for the Technical officer, it's a similar colour build to the silver around his shoulders.

Your name fits perfectly with your sculpts and paint jobs.
It 'hits the spot' on my eyes, and if I ever need to see something awesome, I only need to look for them.

It's not a custom mini I'm afraid, well not one I'm responsible for at any rate. It's a very limited run miniature from a sculptor in Spain if I remember correctly. I picked it up a little while ago from eBay. It was only £8 + p&p, bargain, huh.
