necron destroyer lord with warsycth, but then you have your lord where you might not want it( unless your DS ing a monolith and backup!). or a good old Culexus assassin... I rarely have problems with them.

If you can knock out 6 meq wounds you are set. Dont even waste heavy weapons on them. I LOVE when someone unloads plasma weapons into thropes instead of my trygon.
The big issue is if the thropes completely their mission. I generally have 1 target for them, say a land raider, or artillery battery, something like that. And all they need to do is cripple it. After that I could care less if they live or die.

Yes exactly. If they stay alive for more then one turn after doing their job thats just icing on the cake.

As said, bulk fire is generally the way to go. For me guided War Walkers do them in nicely.
