That is the second coolest thing I have ever seen. The costume looks amazing and the weapons are very well done.

It was for her 2009 Halloween contest at work. I keep having to one-up myself every year... No idea what I'll do for this year *ugh* However we are planing on going to NYC comic con and gameday with it this year.

Thanks, I used Craft foam for the base of the glove as it has flex. The finished one will be a combo of craft foam and PVC expanded foam

Um...to much, I bought multiple items for somethings incase I f*cked up, so I probly don't want to think about it... I bought a lot of tools to build this stuff as well

I think I might sell some of the bases if anyone is interested in making their own.

Did you sculpt all aquilas and other icons yourself?

Most everything is done by hand. The angles on the bolt pistol are found objects and the "swirls" on the armor are a product called grundge board.

Other then that, yes, all done by hand.

Have you thought about using a hockey glove? Not the goal tender's glove, but the one the linemen use.

Yes, that was the 1st idea I had. I liked the thickness of the finguers, but it turned out as I looked at them that they don't work in the wrist area. There is not enough flex in the wrist for them to do what I wanted them to do, also the lenght was an issue, they are to short.

haha...hahaha/......MUAHAHAHAHAH, this is hilariously awesome, for one, your stuff is finished to look legit, compared to a lot of cardboard suits you see. And two, functional in the way of costume firearms goes a LONG way, so kudos to you sir.

Burn baby! More work done on the flamer....much more work to do. I hope to put a layer of paint on it because it's hard to see how it's going to look with all the different colors.Please forgive the crap photos, not sure what happened there...

Laid down a layer of black to unify the piece so I could get a sence of that it's going to look like.





Looks better, still a bit to blockish, not long enough in the body, need to make those cooling/vent holes larger....Much more to do...

Lookijg ngood; making the holes in the muzzle bigger would definitely help. Is it still functional? Soaking people with a flamer sounds like fun, just make sure it smells like gasoline

Uh ... you should mention that it is 1:1 scale in the title! Would attract more visitors, I am sure.

First off: it's a magazine, not a clip (HUGE pet peeve of mine, haha... correct terminology is important!)

Second: That stuff is flipping incredible! I'm SO impressed by all of your work. Usually costumes I see are either ridiculous or poorly made but your attention to detail is astounding

Third: I wish my girlfriend was even a fraction as cool as yours :(

Haha, I think it bothers me so much because I'm in the army and when I was doing basic training a lot of the recruits that didn't know the difference would cost us copious amounts of pushups for calling a magazine a clip. Here is a picture to illustrate the difference (ignore the tone of the picture, it may come across as douchy )

I have seen your work on things like this many times before. Its all incredible stuff. You have alot of talent with these things, and I think you should definitely work in the desighn industry.

I saw the costume and I thought it was okay - I've seen some better ones (namely an incredible one that showed up last year) but I've seen far worse. The accessories though - namely the las pistol, bolt pistols, and power fist, look absolutely fantastic. Lately, Nerf has just been the gift that keeps on giving for people doing this kind of work. I was at a few conventions over the last few weeks and the sheer number of well-converted Nerf guns is staggering.

As a gun nut, I can answer that. Detachable box magazines are used in semiautomatic (non-revolver) pistols and high-capacity weapons (assault rifles, SMGs, etc). Clips don't really see mainstream use anymore, they made more sense when the standard capacity for military rifles was 5 to 10 rounds. Nowadays, with most weapons being high-capacity automatics, the only use I see from clips is to hold loose ammunition together prior to loading it into a standard magazine, or on SKS rifles that are still clip-fed.

Simply put, a magazine is a container in which ammunition is stored, whilst a clip is a small piece of metal which holds rounds in place whilst outside the magazine, and sometimes within the magazine as well. Picture in your mind the bomb bay of a B-52. Yes, you are there. The bay itself is the bomber's magazine, whilst the bomb racks on which the bombs are placed are clips.

You are refering to Kommissar's SoB suit, yes, he's is awesome and better in may ways then mine, and in fact influenced mine once I saw it. But he took 6 months to build his, I did mine in 3 weeks and the next one is going to be better!
Kommissar and I are on friendly terms and share ideas about building better SoB suits
He is currently building a chain sword which I can't wait to see finished.
