Pelosi's favorable rating in the poll stands at 11 percent. Her unfavorable rating, meanwhile, is 37 percent -- meaning that more than one in three views the California Democrat negatively.
Read the Complete PollReid's favorable rating, meanwhile, is even lower: Eight percent. His unfavorable rating stands at 23 percent.
Pelosi isn't up for reelection in 2010. Even if she were, the results of a national sample aren't terribly relevant to a House Representative.

Yes she, just like every other Representative. You are confusing election patterns with the Senate. Every Congressmen is up for election every 2 year cycle. That being said, you are right wit your criticism of the poll. There has been some talk though that she might face a strong Democratic challenger...

My family has an inmate knowledge of what it takes to protect the Mentally Handicap from people like you. Living in a conservative state, it is a constant struggle to support the group homes and other services they need and protect them from the state legislature. I guess it is easier to let them be forgotten than admit they are members of your family. I know I was personally sick when I found out how many of them spend the Holidays with the staff since their families can't be bothered. Aborting them would be more humane.
I going to assume you were not attacking the Mentally Handicap and spoke without thinking, but I'm going to put you on ignore anyway.

Virginia's attorney general has filed a lawsuit challenging the federal government's health care overhaul law.
A spokesman for Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said that the
lawsuit was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court immediately after
President Barack Obama signed the landmark measure into law.
Cuccinelli, a Republican, and other conservatives claim the law
represents an unconstitutional overreach of federal authority.
Attorneys general from 13 states joined to file a similar lawsuit Tuesday in Florida.
Virginia's lawsuit invokes a newly signed state law that says
that no resident can be compelled to have health insurance, nor can
they be forced to pay a fine or penalty for refusing health
coverage.
Virginia's attorney general on Tuesday made good on his promise to sue the federal government over health care overhaul legislation, saying the new law is unconstitutional because it requires people to purchase health insurance or face penalties.
Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli argues the mandate exceeds the federal government's power to regulate interstate commerce under the U.S. Constitution because being a Virginia resident in itself isn't a function or activity of commercial transaction, and thus people cannot be compelled to purchase goods or services.
"Requiring citizen-to-citizen subsidy or redistribution is contrary to the foundations of the constitutional compact," the complaint says.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Richmond on Tuesday shortly after President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law. It names U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as a defendant.
Cuccinelli argues that the court should declare that the federal health insurance mandate, which would take effect in 2014, as unconstitutional. Because the requirement is an essential provision of the overall law, "the entire act is likewise invalid," he says in the complaint.
Unlike attorneys general in 13 other states who filed a joint lawsuit against the new law, Cuccinelli spokesman Brian Gottstein said Virginia filed a separate action because the federal legislation directly conflicts with the recently passed Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act. Of the 13 attorneys general, 12 are Republicans.
Virginia's law, which would take effect in July, says no resident can be compelled to carry health insurance, nor can they be forced to pay a fine or penalty for refusing such coverage. Gov. Bob McDonnell is expected to sign the law Wednesday.
"The collision between the state and federal schemes also creates an immediate, actual controversy involving antagonistic assertions of right," the complaint says.

If American votes meant anything would the stuttering, semi-slowed cluster Bush Jnr have made it to the heady heights of president? I think not. (As does anyone with an IQ over their shoe size, unlike mr Bush (jnr and snr))
As for the OP. I haven't looked into it properly so cannot comment with any real conviction.
But, from what I have seen it's a good thing for the country as a whole and a bad thing for the economy. Hardly the worst thing to happen to your country in a decade or 2 (see first comment).
My 2 cents worth.
At least he was elected. in light with your trashing of my President, how's that peasant smashing welfare sucking guttersnipe queen of yours?
Take back your comment and I'll take mine. Or maybe we'll both be banned. Either is fine by me.
I'm no royalist and I have a hearty distain for most governments / leaders of the world. (not all, some are trying hard to make things better for their respective peoples, not mine unfortunatly.)
I've broken no rules by my comment. That is my opinion of your ex president, not one i am alone in, but my opinion none the less.
If you found it personally offensive then I apologise. We are merely at different ends of the political spectrum.
Anyway, alot of the comments on here have pretty much covered anything i was going to say so I shant bother.

Oops, I thought this would get locked straight away for being a duplicate thread, but it appears to have grown a little life of its own. I'm so proud
Here are some of my musings...
1. For all it's flaws (and there are many!), I would not trade our NHS for your healthcare system, which seems a touch on the unreliable side to me. I admit my knowledge of its workings stems mostly from that Micheal Moore documentary (who I know is not a great purveyor of facts), but if it's true that insurance companies do their level best to find loopholes that allows them to not cough up the cash for your cancer cure, then bugga that for a laugh. Leaving aside the "free healthcare for all" aspect of the bill, surely the bit that says they have to stop penny pinching with people's lives is a good thing?
2. I'm not an ardent Royalist either, but at the moment I would quite happily let the Monarchy assume control of the country once more (at least whilst the Queen's still alive anyway) given the "choice" currently being offered in respect of the two idiots currently vying to be Prime Minister. And completely off topic, why should I give a damn that Call Me Dave has got SamCam up the duff again? Every single bloody newspaper carried that story on the front pages today (except the Independent, they went for whales... very subtle difference).

Speaking of Bush being elected, I would like to say that statement is suspect at best.

Our NHS pays for boob jobs, obese people to get flew to fat camps, Portugese Men to become women (remember Nadia?!) Alcoholics, Junkies and drug addicts, hookers and professional fraudsters from abroad.
This is ridiculous. Come on, seriously. You KNOW that this is mostly bollocks. We've had this argument before. The NHS does NOT just hand out boob-jobs and gender-reassignment to all and sundry - neither does it fly kids to America to go to Fat-Camps. In the very rare instances that the NHS has given boob-jobs or gender-reassignment, it has ALWAYS tried to block them as being unneccesary treatment, and been legally prevented from doing so. As for the 'Alchoholics, junkie scum' stuff - I know you well enough to know that you drink an awful lot, way more than me. Should you be denied NHS treatment for liver-related illnesses later in life?
You've said to me that you never use the NHS. Are you not planning on being sick for the rest of your life? Planning on having kids? What if they get sick? Do you really want to pay the prices that Americans pay? Did you read Tyyr's(iirc) example?
The NHS is NOT perfect by a long shot - but National Insurance provides a decent baseline of care for EVERYONE, so that true poverty can't exist in our country. If you wish to augment that by taking out private health insurance, pension plan etc. you are perfectly free to do so.
Albatross wrote:In the very rare instances that the NHS has given boob-jobs or gender-reassignment, it has ALWAYS tried to block them as being unneccesary treatment, and been legally prevented from doing so.
While this may not then be the fault of the NHS, it would still seem to be a problem with the way your country runs its healthcare system. (Not necessarily a huge one, of course.)

Hardly an earth-shattering problem, though. Certainly not one worth getting worked up over. Rulings have made that allowed people to get boob jobs because they were suffering from depression due to severe breast underdevelopment or birth defect. It is not legal to withhold a treatment, if that treatment is deemed neccesary - and tit-jobs apparently sometimes are. I don't agree with it, but that's the way it is. It isn't exactly widespread.

Flashman, do you wanna know why some people are so vehemently opposed to this bill? It was President Obama's signature project, and everybody that hates him hates this bill by extension. The right wing tried to make this bill a referendum on Obama - often by outright lying about what the bill actually contained. No big suprise - these are the same idiots who will claim with a straight face that Obama was born in Kenya and hence couldn't possibly be president, nosirree.

Heh, FYI.......in 1912 Roosevelt ran under the progressive party, which made national health care one of it's priorities (Not that it makes the bill right or wrong). As a side note, besides some reservations regarding his Corollary, I consider Roosevelt one hell of a president.
