Man those look really great! I'd love to start an all nipple classic army.

@Somnicide: The non-nipple Sanguinary breastplates look awesome, too. Basically just a fantastic kit...there's also some great helmets included in the kit, but I went for the all-deathmask look.

Yeah the masks are a requirement for my dreamed off Classical army. My delusional day dreams see them painted in an off white marble look with darker streaks so they look like living statues. Man, that reminds me, I need to buy a lottery ticket.

So I've done some more work on the Furioso with the frag cannon, as well as started work on my Librarian dreadnought. I've shortened the barrel of the weapon, but I'm not going to undersling it...I think it looks good in its current positioning.

Furioso w/frag cannon:

And here's the librarian wip. The force weapon is not going to stay clear...it's just the only plasticard I had:

Again, any thoughts and comments are welcome!

Loving the look of the frag cannon now that I can see a side shot of it.

And yes about the new dread power fist look, Furioso Dread's the Pimp of the 41st Millennium

Looks fantastic DrunkenBoxer! Frag cannon could possibly do with some recoil dampeners? I know its the 41st millenium and all but i think that would look cool.

Concept for librarian looks good though. Are you going to integrate a psychic hood? Also, the force blade could do with a bit of tidying up? Possibly some power doohickys like you see on the side of a power sword (if you know what i mean!)

Great work though!

Thanks for the comments! I'll consider some recoil dampeners, though I can always just say those are inside the weapon housing. Depends on if I dig up some appropriate bits that I like the look of.

Not sure if I'm going to model a psychic hood or not...after all, it's logical that the hood would be inside the sarcophagus. And there will be a sarcophagus cover attached. The force blade is definitely going to get some sprucing up though, it's just in the early stages.

I love both dreads, although the force weapon on the libbie dread might just be a tad big.

Now that tax day has passed, I was able to squeeze in a bit more work on the two dreadnoughts. I've trimmed down the force weapons some on the librarian...I think it looks a bit less unwieldy now. I'm still intending to also put some wires on the force weapon, but that's where I'm at for now.

I did have one unfortunate occurrence...this was my first time trying out the brass icons from Forgeworld, and when I glued on the one on the Librarian's shoulder it immediately stuck fast, and as you can see it's slightly askew. I'm not quite sure what to do about that without potentially damaging the arm...as the brass pieces are also much thinner than my xacto blade. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Without further ado, here's the work on dreadnoughts so far:

Hmmm, you do seem to have it a bit off.
You could submerge the arm in simple green it usually significantly weekens the bond of most glue.

TheCyben: Seriously though, I'm not advocating GW to model any Boosh characters. If they have to pick one, it would have to be Tony Harrisson... but that would be an outrage.

I've only ever used simple green on metal minis...are there any negative effects on plastics?

I left some ABOR termies in the stuff for 3 days and they were just fine, so no i dont think so. I'd watch it just to be safe.

I might even go the easier route and see if I've got a BA symbol that I could just glue over this one.

Managed to carefully pry the BA brass symbol off the dreadnought arm and reglue it with better positioning. Huzzah.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've been pretty busy, so this is the first update in a few. I've put together my first rhino, as well as three assault squad sergeants. Like the DC and Sanguinary Guard, the sergeants have been magnetized to swap between jump packs and backpacks. I've also magnetized the weapon arms on two of them so I can swap between power weapons and power fists, and between an infernus and a bolt pistol.

Rhino: pretty standard, with a couple of brass pieces to individualize it.

Assault Sergeant 1: This one has been glued, so he will always have a power weapon and bolt pistol.

Assault Sergeant 2: Can swap between power fist and power weapon. The bolt pistol arm is glued.

Assault Sergeant 3: Can swap between power fist and lightning claw, and between infernus pistol and bolt pistol.

Finally, here's a BA blood drop brass piece on the lightning claw:

Forgot to post these yesterday - I've finished work on the Librarian Force Weapon. I was at my FLGS and jokingly suggested that I keep the blade clear and light it up with some fiber optics, but I think that would have been a better route to go if I'd thought of it before I glued everything together!

I really like your force weapon, is that an ironclad arm?

Makes me wish I hadn't gone the IG Autocannon Nemesis route. Dammit.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

@cosmic pixie: The force weapon is indeed an ironclad arm...I put the ironclad arms on the venerable body, and the venerable arms on the ironclad body. Just suited my purposes that way. And hey, you can have more than one librarian dreadnought in your army, so you could always make a second one in this fashion!

I'll try to get some more stuff done, but I also have painting on my daemons to finish for the tournament I'm in, plus our gaming group has a Malifaux thing starting...I really need to clone myself. Or outsource.

I feel bad, as I haven't been able to update this in quite awhile...I've been bogged down with painting my daemon army for the TOMG and getting sucked into Malifaux. I've got several legs on bases right now with no torsos, so I'll hold off on those pics. However, I did get Corbulo assembled, so here he is:

Thanks for the recent compliments. I also can't wait to see some paint applied, but I really need to finish assembling everything first...or at least enough to get a playable 1500pt game in!

If only other projects weren't distracting me so much...
