I don't think anyone is clueless enough to put the Punisher at the top of any list except the suck pile, so I'm going to assume he was joking with that one.

Out of the non-Apocalypse tanks, I would say the Executioner is by far the most lethal. The Crusader and the new Baal are also quite good. The former for being a tough-as-nails transport for up to 8 terminators, that has the guns to take out 2 vehicles a turn, or pop one vehicle and hose the contents down with lead. The Baal has similar firepower, and is also a scouting fast tank.

If we're talking non super heavies then vanilla russ (sexy, cheap, pie plates ftw)
If we're talking super heavies then baneblane (sexy, worth every point, devastating pie plate ftw)
If we're talking any vehicle then imperiator titan (sexy, it is your army, kills everything within 9 km)

I say the Stormlord is pretty awesome.

15 Megabolter shots (30 if you don't move) will kill any infantry unit very quickly

Doesnt the low BS + cover saves makes it sort of like Punisher cannon dilemma?

I don't think titans are considered tanks but ya that would be sweet

people tend to be reckless with their infantry in appoc and when you are firing that many shots an average BS isn't really a problem.

Stormraven if you take landraiders with wings (and living metal-esque rules).

Redeemer for pure anti power armour killiness.

Monolith for living metal.

The best kind of tank? The kind I can loot from a battlefield. Seriously, though, I'd plump for A Battlewagon, with it's huge troop capacity and front AV of 14 making it my favourite. Pretty cheap too, at 100pts for a wagon with a red paint job and big shoota, and if it's for transport purposes, that's all you will need.

Dosent the eldar have a big tank?

Grey Knight Land Raider Crusader

Assault Vehicle that comes Stock with Extra Armor and can shoot Hurricane Bolters regardless of how far it moved and then throw Machine Spirit on that...not bad.

But I have gotten my face wrecked by the banewolf (poison template tank?)

I like Land Raiders, but probably the Baneblade.

Or even better, a looted Baneblade!
