Hi again.
Unfortunaly some ideas just dont work that well with the 40k game.

Ork Nobs are built for close combat assaults.Thats what they have stats for and what they exell at.
Any range weaponry they carry is just to stop them getting bored on the way into close combat!

Giving Ork Nobs fancy shooters , is about as effective as giving Tua fire warriors twin power fists.
The concept is cool , but the game just doesnt reward counter themed armament.

Originaly when orks has BS3 , lootas were boys mobs equiped with other races special-heavy weapons ,(mainly imperium.)
Flash gits were boys mobs equiped with lots of 'Xpery-mental Kustom Wepunz.'

(When you roled up Kustom weapunz individually, with effects and side effects charts.)

Transposing this to the modern game.
Lootas are boys that put out alot of long (ish) range fire support , multiple shots make up for poor BS.

Flash Gits should be a boys mob, NOT a nobs mob, with +1 BS , and long ranged single shot weapon.
(EG similar to the 'Sun-gun' I proposed earlier.)

Flash gits are the complete opposite of Nobs, in the old fluff.
Nobs were all about breaking heads close up and personal like , and still are!
Flash Gits were about shooting over the longest range, with as much noise and muzzel flash-/-clouds of smoke as possible!

A Nobs Mob based Flash Gits , means you end up paying over the odds for a close combat oriented stat line when you shoot, or for a over expensive weapon when you dont.

Using a BOYS mob as a basis with 'eavy armour and +1 BS(Git finda) and along range single shot weapon .Makes the mob a static fire support unit , similar BUT diferent to Lootas.(Same as they used to be.)

Ps Lootas should be in the Heavy Support, and Flash Gits in the Elite slot IMO.

I don't know Lanrick, I enjoy taking Badruck, firing on average 8 AP 2 shots into an honour guard then assaulting it. The way they work now in terms of stats means that I don't have to pay for my AP 2 shots and a CC monster to mind the lootas (and the flashgitz if GW took your suggestion).

Hi the-ferret.
If the Flash Gits became a boys mob led by a Kaptin.
The Kaptins profile would be different to the current profile.

EG Kaptin WS/BS/S/T/W/I/A/ld/sve'
4/3/4/4/2/3/3/8/4+

Badrukk.4/4/4/4/2/3/3/9/3+

Rippa. Rnge 48" str 7 Ap 2 Heavy 2 Gets hot.

ONE Ork unit that can actualy shoot straight is not that bad is it?(The exeption that prove the rule sort of thing?)

(Didnt Badrukk originally carry a extended range plasma gun with 'armour busta' and 'massive recoil' side effects?)

Badrukk and his Flash gits hang back and lends lots of accurate( ) fire support to 'da uvver Orks.'

I was wondering if there would be more suppport for the Flash Gits if they followed thier original format?
