They will almost certainly not reimburse you in any way.

Look, once painted and based it's almost impossible to detect recasts through normal (that is to say casual) examination of the sort they will get from other players and staff during a game. I would not hesitate to use them even at a GW store. Even if they do catch you, they cannot legally sieze them from you.

I don't know, it seems from the "Counterfeit" section that GWS would replace them if you supplied a receipt for them. I'd certainly at least contact them and see what they say.

In denmark, its just as illegal (technically) to buy counterfeit, as it is to buy stolen property, knowingly or not knowingly. However, I dont see the police knocking on your door anytime soon with a search warrant because they tracked you IP-adress. . . Hell I dont even think you would get busted trying to sell them. But that doesnt mean that you should keep it honest.

thats pretty rough that you can be charged for purchasing a counterfeit if you had no way of knowing it. that kind of precludes people turning in a counterfeiter as the act of reporting it means you get charged too.

OP, if GW really wanted to get you, they would have coerced the Yakface or Legoburner to give up your IP and stalk you down like the RIAA does.

If these are old models, feel (morally) vindicated in using them as GW no longer produces them. Also, don't tell the internet if you are nervous. Normal police won't go looking in your mini case unless you wave a flag in front of GW's face. Just don't pull a Gizmodo with your stuff.

So GW will replace a counterfeit miniatures with the genuine article eh.... So what we need is someone to buy a T-hawk, make crappy casts of it, give coppies out to the dakka community with reciepts of sale, and GW will give us all New, Free, genuine T-hawks....

Really though, if you didint know before purchase I think your off the hook... you could send em in to GW if you'd rather have the real mini's... or you can just keep using them as is, GW makes enough money, and they hike prices 6 times a month, so its hard to feel bad for them.

You think if I made super heavies out of pop sickle sticks, they would give me the real thing? Im not talking just sticks and glue here, Id have dry wall spackle and the whole 9 yards too!
