a modern day laser giuded bomb dropped from a fighter bomber usualy lands within 3 metres of the target.
if this is used against a baneblade then i am afraid it would become scrap metal quite quickly.

Again, presuming:
a) there is no electronic interference
b) there is no em interference
c) there is no electronic warfare
d) the munitions can even penetrate the armor
e) you have the air superiority necessary to get a fighter bomber to the target

i agree with all but d). we have air to ground munitions designed espicialy to penetrate a nuclear bunker before exploding inside it and vaporising its inhabitants. a baneblade would be torn to peices from the inside out.

I would claim that Christianity is just an odd form of worshiping said Emperor, join their ranks, and hope I don't get stationed near a Commissar or two....

riplikash wrote:Nukes are not the silver bullet many of you seem to think they are. The main reason they are scary is because of their wide area of affect, not their armor piercing ability. Now don't take that to mean I'm saying they are not very powerful at ground zero, but even today we have armor that can withstand a nuclear detonation, and imperial armor is likely designed for just that scenario.

You do know that the point of the explosion (which isn't ground zero) is about as hot as the sun right? I'd like to see anything withstand that.

And we have armor that can withstand just the shockwave, we have no armor that would survive direct contact with the "core" of the explosion.

Inside that little light in your refridgerator

The way I see it, there are 3 scenarios:
1) We die very quickly, and do very little to the Imperials.
2) We accept them, as they do not wish to kill us, as Earth is Terra; also, we are to ****-scared to say 'no'.
3) We win, assuming all of our guns are rending, our tanks have AV 73 all round, and we roll a battle-barge-load of sixes.

Well, if Sanguinius is around, you'd have a solid claim.
